Would someone be willing to trade their KAC FSGB for a Daniel Defense M4 octogonal locking collar for the SDM-R?

I've seen a couple for sale this month but the price tag was crazy.  Seems to be the trend for clone parts over the last year especially

Are you standing upright and then just rotating the pic?  Is that your garage door as a background?  The lighting really works well.  And it's always the same.  What the heck?

Anyone know a round about time that BCM may have sold their last SAM-R uppers?
Link Posted: 2/15/2017 9:31:02 PM EDT
[#13]
A couple of years at least.  Honestly I would say around Sandy Hook.  I bought mine four years ago and I never saw them in stock anywhere after that

I thought maybe longer. I honestly have no clue. I just thought those gas blocks disappeared and I'm sure the uppers dried up. Kinda like the DD FDE RIS II uppers. I have a few BCM RIS II uppers also that I really like. Really curious to see that BCM SAM-R upper. I think I should get it Monday or tuesday. I'll post pics.

Yup haha!

Yes that's my garage door. I was using the concrete driveway before but I hate the grainy look. The garage door is much much better ; only downside is you'll have to see my arm .

It likely is older, I was just thinking of the latest date they might have sold them.  There couldn't have been that many sold.  Even when they were readily available they weren't that easy to come by

It'll work.  Probably good for the few female members we have.  Although I'm not sure any of them are around in here.  But man girls do like guns.  It seems like.

Did the SAM-r Use the TS30A2 TMR or Mil Dot? I know the Mk12 used the TMR but I'm asking about the SAM-r.

I have a question about the lower receivers used in SAMR and SDM-R rifles. If I wanted to build a "more correct " clone I'd need to start with an 80% lower and then get it engraved, correct? And am I correct in that I'd use any of the newer style lowers that are available as long as they're "milspec" ? In other words NOT a retro style?
Thanks!

Yea I'll watch that. Watch someone get 1k for a gas block. If they are selling for  870.00 in the EE I'd say 1k on eBay easily. That one has been pinned too. I thank god every time I see things like this that purely by chance I bought all my clone parts before this madness. There is a FF RAS (long) on there too approaching the 600.00 mark. You could probably win both for 2k.

It is an A.R.M.S. rail. It's a Bushmaster with a heavy barrel. It's definitely a little hefty I'd say about 11 or 12lbs.

This is true, most guys that I have ran into at local SPR matches that have MK12 clones have never even heard of arfcom. Some guys I talked to said they got parts lists from reddit or bought them prebuilt from HCS or other vendors.

You think the gas block was high. An ACE socom gen 1 stock sold for $801.00 on gunbroker. It was the long version even. Not even the "correct" M4 length

Heh, well I did make that parts list over on Reddit based off the thread and everything I've learned from it, BR II, Facebook group, etc. over the years.

Nice pic. I'm going to use my NT4 on my SAM-R's also. Good luck on the build. The gas block is the hurdle. Not sure what barrel you ordered but the CLE barrel is a work of art.

Just finished my newest two cases:

two questions on the SAM-R and SDM-R:

1)  Any quidance on which sling to use with each rifle?
2)  SAM-R and Mk12 Mod0 both have A.R.M.S #22 rings.  I use high on both, but the specs on Mk12 Mod0 listed Medium.  Not sure what the difference would be, other than a slightly different next twist to get eye relief.  They both have the same scope.

The 22H mounts directly to the upper, the 22M mount to a rail that is mounted to the upper... both setups are roughly the same height.

Don't see it. How much did it go for?
Edit-I found it. This will be fun to watch. I hope they don't pull this one like last time. After a 2k MRE I want to see what this does. Spectator sport

You will love that barrel. I have a SAM-R BCM built upper and then the SAM-R I built before I got the BCM that I used the CLE barrel. Love it. I want to buy another one of those barrels.

That better not be someone here selling that. It says complete your MK12. C' mon man!!!

I actually thought about building a clone of it until I realized that the ARMS Rail was only available from a couple vendors for about 500 bucks. For that kind of money you can but a KAC Rifle Length rail or even some of the rarer URX models.

Thinking about the rings. With a 36mm lens, why would the Navy have used HIGH rings?  Was it where the cheek hit the A2 stock?  I would have expected lower rings.

Yes. The med rings are uncomfortably low for most people, nothing to do with scope clearance

Knight’s Two-Stage Match Trigger

Norgon Ambidextrous Magazine Catch
Colt A2 Buttstock Assembly

Knight’s Free-Float RAS
Knight's 600-Meter BUIS
Colt A2 Flash Hider

Leupold Mk4 2.5-8x36 M2 Illum. P/N 112633
A.R.M.S. #22 High Rings
PVS-14 NVG Mount
PEQ-2 Mount
Knight’s Push-Button Sling Mount

One falls...

Another rises...(quite a disappointing purchase on my part...and not the sellers fault, it was exactly as described)

Glass is more proper, look closely...

Next, have barrel sent out to have a M4 barrel extension installed instead of Rifle,
Then swap upper and BCG for Colt M4 variety

ETA: scope looks canted...it is just mocked up, hopefully it is just optical illusion.
