Walked into my LGS today and they had a bundle of old police trade-ins. Rock River LE Restricted, 16" mid-length, 1/9 chrome lined barrel, with the early (and weird) fixed A2 sight assembly sans carry handle upper. Probably the ugliest configuration ever made, but back when Rock River was a pretty good gun. I'm guessing it was early in the advent of the optics game...it's been years since I've seen one like this...maybe even pre- 9/11. Anyone have an idea which model this is and when it was made? The thing is nearly new. A few scuff marks from sitting in a rack but it doesn't look like its been fired much at all and it was the cleanest PD trade-in I've ever seen. $469 plus tax. Totally didn't need another AR, but I think this could be a pretty handy truck gun. Is it retro cool?

that midlength barrel profile is the absolute best. Not a pencil, not an M4. But RRA won't make it in 1/7, so I sold them all. Here's a few builds from the past

Ok...I've been playing around. Probably shouldn't have done this because now I'm another $65 in on parts, but oh well. Traded the Rock River upper for a new A2. Replaced the carbine stock with an A2 I had laying around, but had to buy a new tube, buffer & spring. Looking for an A1 stock body to shorten it up a bit.

| Is it a KT or L s/n? We recently traded in about 60 rifles between those and bushmaster dissapators. It was before my time, but I think those are early / mid-2000's? We're replacing them with Geissele 11.5 guns w/ hux cans. |
