Geissele has ODG ano sets for $232. AIM has a ODG Aero ano lowers for $70 and uppers for $90. I’d have hoarded them myself but bought an ODG Keltec RDB for the woman and kids to plink with instead.

  Just finished this build. I like to think of it as the “AR15-A5.” Materials list: Aero slick upper. Larue LAT handguard. Magpul Mlok rail covers. Surefire M300 on SF mount. BFG sling. Criterion chrome-lined 16” pencil barrel with FSB pinned by RAW. A2 FH. Daniel Defense fixed rear sight. Microbest chrome BCG. Aimpoint Duty RDS on Scalarworks mount. JP Enterprises silent captured spring. Radian charging handle. KP15 lower with Larue MBT trigger. Might eventually add a magnifier. Weight without mag (but otherwise exactly as pictured) is 7 pounds even. For comparison, my Colt 6720 with factory furniture, but with the same sling, light, and optic is 6 pounds, 15 ounces. Basically the KP15+slick upper weight savings allowed me to trade up to a stout free-float HG for a 1oz weight penalty. And the Larue is not even the lightest available, but at the time it was by far the cheapest at $90. The weight would probably be in favor of this build over the 6720 if I used a standard spring&buffer, as the JPSCS adds a couple of ounces net. I’m very happy with it so far. Need to go shooting next week! |

Original thought was a really good LPVO, but I'm liking ACOGs so much. Maybe an LED ta02 and RMR on top. Nifty FCD lower bits to go on as well Paint is Alumahyde 2.  I like the ODG aluminum and FDE accessories |

 Maybe one of the more oddball builds you’ll see, starting with a 16” 5.56 LMT MRP-L upper, and using the KP15 to bring the weight down to “average” range. The MRP-L is 2 ounces lighter than the Quad, and the KP15 is about 8 ounces lighter than an LMT MARS-L lower, so the base rifle is 10 ounces lighter than a full LMT rifle, which is quite noticeable. Rifle weighs 8pounds - 11oz as pictured, but no magazine. ACOG TA02 w/RMR, with KRAM 5.5 to get it back and over the offset rear, which also has a significant benefit for rolling the optic to left eye-RMR. Without the KRAM, I had to hunt for the dot a bit, but with it I roll left and it’s there. A KRAM 7.0 might work even better. Surefire M340DFT. Haven’t had much time to play with the light yet, but it’s bigger and heavier than the old M300s. Dueck offset irons. I had been moving away from irons on my rifles over the last few years. A previous LMT build had no irons. However, having watched a shitload of combat footage from Ukraine, I now feel this is a mistake, and that irons belong on a rifle, and should be immediately available without removing the optic. This means either a RDS and 12:00 irons, or ACOG and offset irons. I was skeptical, but they really do work. You just roll left a little to get the RDS, and roll a little more and duck your head to get the irons. The one problem I haven’t been able to solve yet is that I like a forward sling, and the new Magpul mounts don’t play well with LMT uppers. It’s really annoying they went this direction because I had mounts that worked before. |

Hydro Print Services I believe that he first laid down a brown base coat then hydrodipped using the woodgrain acetate. Top coat was then sprayed clear followed by a hand-applied coat of clear with some traces of brown swirled in, finished with another clear coat. At least, that's what I gathered from talking with him. It was definitely a one-off custom process. I think he did an excellent job. |
