Its a DD 1 o'clock mount. You basically tilt the rifle 45 degrees and then you can use the red dot. Ok so here we go. After looking at these pictures, the pictures aren't really representative of the real thing. You will notice the green gets washed out in the pictures on some of the foliage, but when I actually looked through the scope, I didn't loose the reticle at all. I think if I had an HDR (High Dynamic Range) camera that it would give a better representation of the reticle. I think my crappy photography also makes these look worse than reality. Anyways, let me know if you guys wanna see anything else. Please look at the last picture and answer the question after it. Thanks.

Ok, so looking at this last picture from inside you cant tell, but when I was outside, the left side of the top horizontal line on the BDC was also illuminated. It clearly should stay black like the rest of the BDC. Is this a quality control issue, should I contact Trijicon? |

One questions on all ACOG's: Why do they go out of their way to have a million different reticule colors, but make them so small it doesn't matter? Am I missing something? |

Ok, so I captured the green illumination on the BDC (see question above). Is that something I should raise a fuss about? I mean I did pay 1000+ for this scope, for that price, the thing should be flawless. Its not the same green as the donut, it looks like a tritium type green, or forest green I guess.

Awesome pics! Thanks for doing that. I could pick up the doughnut against that green bush pretty quick for how small it was. Like you said it would look way different in person, more like that last pic, up close, and larger.
As far as your extra green coloring on the hash below, I wouldn't mind it. Almost like have a completely lit reticle, more of a benefit. |

Try emailing CS at Trijicon to see what your options are. They are generally regarded as having good CS. |

I could do a 360, and 85% of the terrain below the tree-tops is some shade of green. (note 1984's reticle pics above mine.) I probably won't be deploying anywhere in the near future, so red works for me. I tried going green, but a traditional gas-guzzling rubber-tires-burning 8-cylinder works better for me :) USMC stated in his "Trijicon ACOG Considerations" review that, "Nothing in nature is red or close to red." And yes it is a little fisheyed at 1x and even a bit on 2x but not bad. As for 2 eyes open it is possible. Ian |

Millet DMS-1 Reticle pictures.
To get an idea of the reticle shape and size:

I have to say these pictures do not show the clarity of the glass well. I was also taking the pictures through a window and a screen with overcast. Actual view is much brighter and crisp. I will try to post some pictures during day light from outdoors and see how they turn out. |
TR24R Full Sun at 1X & 4X. Treeline is 150 yards away. Of course, my photo skills leave a lot to be desired. The reticle looks more "white" than red in the photos, which isn't the case at all. In actuality the clarity of the Accupoint and the deep rich color of the red against the background is astounding. I think it's because the reticle is so damn bright under the sun - must have something to do with the blooming. Dunno. Regardless, the pics do present a decent reference to the size of the reticle. Incredible optic.

Some night time shots. The reticule illumination is a little brighter than what it is supposed to be because I was looking from indoors to outdoors. Very dark outside and pics were shot at ISO3200 resulting in the grainy images.

GUYS - This is a real good post, but a lot of the pics have bad links now, so I just went through all 28 pages and saved off the best pics. I am going to re-host these on the Arfcom server and make a more compact post around them without a bunch of "Cool pics!" posts in between. I would like to give each of you guys credit, but with the number of pics that's not going to be possible. I'll keep this thread up so it doesn't become archived though, and point to it in my new post in case someone wants to see who actually took the pics. IF ANYONE OBJECTS, PLEASE SEND ME AN IM AND WHICH PICTURE YOU TOOK, AND I WILL REFRAIN FROM USING YOUR PIC. Once I put up the new information, I will lock this post and start another one for you guys to continue. I plan to grab the pictures from that periodically and repeat the process. |

You can play with adjustments to a single photo and achieve an HDR type look, but it is not a true HDR photo. |
