I have read a few archived threads on Palmetto Arms and know people have mixed opinions. I am doing my first build. I was mainly an AK guy but about a year and a half ago I picked up a PSA freedom mlok stainless on a anderson lower and so far I like it.

I decided to do a build for the first time, so I did some research, watched some build vids and youtube reviews of Palmetto and couldnt find anything wrong.

With prices going up I figured I would settle on the premium kit which has T marks, F post, I purchased an anchor harvey carry handle, stripped lower, and the completed upper which has an FN CHF chromelined barrel. Any opinions from others who have used them or in comparison to other builds? These are pictures of my kit

Are any of them actually showing stock?

I’ve had good results with their FN CHF CL barrels but they aren’t as accurate as my DD versions.

I've got two PSA Premium CHF complete uppers and both have been great...

The 16" m4a1 profile carbine is a little over gassed but I run it with a sprinco blue spring / h3 buffer and it's fine.

The 14.7" midlength is an extremely "soft" shooting upper (sprinco blue / h buffer) and has 800+ rounds through it since it's last cleaning. I had one or two failures to lock back on the last round during my last range session but that was while shooting some cheap/weak Tula .223.  I just pull a bore snake through and oil the bcg before each range visit.

Also, Battlefield Las Vegas has had several PSA uppers in use and they've reported very good results.

Just like any other new upper, confirm that everything is straight/tight and you're gtg.

Glad to hear, I have been wondering if I made a good decision with the purchase .. It was a tossip between this and the nitride kit with mbus sights and moe. I decided to spend the extra cash just due to the praise for the FN barrels. Lot of folks tried to steer me away from going chromeline and I realize I will probably never outshoot it but the durability is what I was looking for.

Mine is also a midlength 16"

I am mainly shooting 5.56 PMC Xtac, federal eagle or IMI 62 gr

It will shoot fine but dont expect it to be an MOA rifle. With the ammo you are listing, if you are getting a consistent 2.5" groups at 100 yards, I'd be totally happy with that. Longevity on those FN barrels should be up to par with anyone else. Its a quality product.

I know a few guys with them and they shoot fine.  I wouldn't expect any consistent groups under 2moa with range ammo.

i have had 2 FN barrels in 16" and both would eat up hot IMI that choked other barrels. both also were capable if 1-2 MOA with good ammo.

Lots of experience with one of the older PSA labeled FN barrels. They're gtg.

I've had good luck with them.  Accurate to my standards.

I have some of their SBR lengths that are every bit as accurate as any other barrel with my handloads and seem to be gassed perfectly.
