Thanks to the EE, ,
I now own this:

It's currently sitting at my FFLs, waiting for the BGC to go through, thank you, Oregon, we're all so much safer now....
I'll probably "update" this,

GUU-5ish type build. The 601 front pin thing is really irritating for some reason. First world problem.
Pics of partial fence lower builds welcome.
Thanks.

What’s the lower? H&R?

Looking at your build in addition the to full curve mag: is that a Tony’s custom upper aluminum stock? If it is are you using a mil-spec tube with it?

Shoulda used an A1 flash hider and left that yellow inspection sticker ln the glass my friend

Full curve mag, lower on the rifle is an NDS 601 type, I'm pretty sure the stock is a Tony's, the member I got it from wasn't sure, it is on a mil spec tube, the flash hider is what I had on hand, plus, it's a GUU type, so....
and the glass didn't have the sticker on it when I got it. The darker scope I have does, though.

Those Tony stocks look good for an E1 build but they seem confused on whether or not it is for a mil-spec tube or not; is there any play or wobble in yours?

You’re right about the flash hider and I didn’t realize you had an authentic 3x20 I thought it was the brownells.  Great build I bet it shoots great., that new lower is going to look better than the one you have on now.

It's better than a Bushmaster, not so good as Colt, somewhere in between.....

Got me a partial fence Retro-ish build in the works. Not really a model specific build, just using some spares I have on hand.

It includes the H&R Commando lower, 4 position Colt N1 plastic stock, A1 grip, Spikes Tactical 11.5" lightweight barrel, YHM 5C2 FH (looking for an A1 birdcage).

I have not decided on whether to use a 604 style upper receiver or a M16A1 forward assist receiver. I have both on hand.

Brownell's partial fence lower, also with the Tony's aluminum stock.

That's neat. I didn't realize they came in black. What LPK did you use? I like the grey on it. No tick safety?

Nodak also did small batches of black anodized lowers maybe once a year. You never see the black ones for sale on the secondary market, total numbers must be extremely low,

I did a what-if pre-Colt 741 LMG with mine.

Here’s a couple videos of 3 of my builds I have a few more I’ve done.  I’ve also got a 601 reweld but that’s not milled out yet.

My very first build ever

Not a partial fence but still an XM16E1
1967 Colt XM16E1 Full Fence Reweld

My absolute favorite build I’ve done

Your upper, what am I looking at?
No F/A with a brass deflector.
It's like an alternate timeline theory.

Your full curve mag is awesome, and that's a very nice carbine!

Upper is from Mayhem Machine. They're the ones supplying Onyx with the M16K uppers. Neat guys. I had it cerakoted to match the H&R lower.

Stupid question, but what's up with the roll pin where the buffer tube goes in?

Early Colts had those to pin the buffer tube in place they realized they didn’t need it and it went away by the time the M16A1 was adopted but knowing Colt it wouldn’t surprise me if there were a few A1 marked lowers with the buffer tube roll pins LOL

I've always liked the old school look.  Maybe because I was in during the early 70's.
The rifle was my first AR.  The carbine is a .22lr.

OR....maybe because it's nostalgic, utilitarian, functionally superior to commie swill and Euro trash consortium designs, AND just plain ass neat.
Nice builds.
Does that .22 even kick? Not like 5.56 has a lot to begin with, can't imagine a .22 would have any.

I feel the same way about the front pins on 601/602s.
