I really really want the Mk6 3-18x44...

I'll park a variable optic in the LT-104 30mm mount... For now.

If anyone has a legit, Mint condition KAC Long Free Float RAS, that they want to trade for a DD RIS II FDE

His was like THE "SEAL recce" clone...

Then he replaced the NF with a Vortex Razor 1-6x...

Then he just started partin shit out!!!

I was pissed that he didn't give a "Recce Homie" heads up on the rail... Not a discount on it or anything... Just first shots at it!

It should, as the ring sizes are the same.

I'm getting the JPoint winged version (waiting for MOD Armory back order) for my Unimount. It will reside on my Mk12 Mod 1 upper til I can get a NSW recce upper done.

Vortex Viper HS Long-Range 2.5-10x32 FFP XLR (MOA) Reticle 30mm tube $399

I snagged one for my RECCE build.  Figured I'd pass the deal along.  Anyone else running this scope?

Was pretty hot this morning, so I decided to go topless and smack my 6" steel gong at a hundo. I'm curious to know how on point are the KAC 2-600 rear buis out at distance. I'm gonna assume they're calibrated for 855's, but when zeroing them at 25yds, (rear elevation is at the "Z" and front buis is adjusted for 25yds point of aim point of impact) your supposed to just be able to line up the arrow with the number of yardsX100 on the rear elevation only and hit your target. Easy breezy.Has anybody tested this theory??? Gonna post this up in the mk12 thread also.

I may or may not have done some recon and come across some goodies, in addition to what USNguns posted.

First up, some additional shots of our beloved, mythical recce:

Notice in this last one, there's an HK416 recce in the foreground, which leads us to . . .

Last but not least, I was shocked to see several suppressors other than M42Ks on the 416's (Gemtech?) and MP7s and a pistol suppressor (and SF muzzle brakes and a Comp M4). Off topic, but most in this thread may find interesting:

I'd trade three of my complete CQBRs (cans, optics, and all) for just one of them.

Which is funny because EA had a disclaimer on every video saying they were former DEVGRU guys which was a total lie. And a quick look at the weapons reveals they were using issue weapons.

I've thoroughly enjoyed this thread. I've finally finished my recce concept build. When I envisioned how I wanted it, I had no idea that what I was going to build was a "recce" or that they even existed. I just knew I wanted something that could go from CQB to med- long range. But here she is, I've since moved the scope mount back a bit.

HA! Yea... it started going downhill once the razor got on there LOL. If I had a x24 I may have stuck out.

That was also the time when people in the clone threads were getting shamed for sharing their EE sales.

At very least, the "PEQ-15" on one of those MP7A1s is a hollow airsoft battery box with the illuminator bezel popped off:

That and a couple of other things that seem.. "odd" to me would lead me to suspect that at least some of those "guns" are airsoft and/or replicas.

Looking to do a seal recce. Have the Lilja m4 barrel, but have a question. Did the seal recce have the ops inc collar?  The Lilja is .725 in front of the gas block, is that enough to have the step for the collar cut?

You'd probably have to get the .700x.700 cut behind the muzzle and use AE's M4/AEM5 adapter. That's even more money on top of an already almost $500 barrel.

Your better bet might be doing a Knight's NT4 suppressor. Yeah, it means getting anotjer can but it is THE clone suppressor for all your M4, Mk18, Recce, and other needs.

NT4 is the bees knees. Might not be the most sound suppressive suppressor, but if I could only own 1 can, NT4 by a long shot. Corn on the cob doe.

As the owner of a heavy can already (YHM SS QD) I'd have to go surefire.  Weighs half a pound less....and that's a lot of weight out front even on something as "short" as 14.5".

But I'm all emo and shit, so who knows.

Lol is emo still alive?

I just like the NT4 for the GWOT (nostalgic?) factor. Although that's probably the wrong term. I know the SOCOM is prob a better suppressor, but dat corn cob doe.

guy at the range last time i went had a SOCOM-RC on a rifle.  had a really nice tone to it--way better than my heavy-assed Phantom 7.62.  (sounds gay but it's totes true.  with less butt-stuff than your corn cob fetish....)

don't get me wrong, the phantom's a fanfuckingtastic can.  but between the two clone cans, i honestly prefer the surefire.

Definitely understandable. The NT4 is kind of old compared to the SOCOM, probably 10 more years worth of technology/baffle/lightweight material advancements/R&D into the SOCOM than NT4.

and yet, as old as it is, it's still a fantastic can.

the surefire is just lighter.

Backing up several pages to the topic of KAC MREs. Does anyone know if the early builds with the MRE rails and S&B Short Dots used regular 14.5" M4/M4A1 barrels or were some type of SS barrels bought at the unit level? What optics mounts were used early on - I mean before the Larue mounts came out in 2004-2005? Unless you mount it like in the picture below you would have to use some type of extended rail (like a ARMS #38 EX) and rings.

Other than this guy I haven't been able to find many pictures.

KAC MRE w/ Railed front Filler

Colt Socom Profile 14.5" Barrel

It will wear the carry handle for now until I can afford and Acog or a 1-4x. What do you guys think would fit the part the best? My top 2 right now are a TA01NSN or the Leatherwood Hi-Lux 1-4x

If anyone has a FA or Dust Cover (preferably Colt) laying around let me know, I'd be interested in buying them.

And big shoutout to secretwheelman for passing this awesome gem along to me!
