kwrangln infected me with Boonie Packeritis.  Here are three of my carbines with variations of the basic $16 Boonie Packer TQA quick adjust two point sling:

KISS with M4 stock connector - the front is mounted to a M4-type side sling point.  This is a 1.25" version.  Simple, effective, comfortable.

A MOE carbine with my WECSOG front sling loop.  It's a 1.5" model with the M4 stock connector, I used a MASH on the front.   A very quick, comfy, stable sling!

Here's a 1.25" TQA to which I added 1" HK hooks front and rear to make a basic 1/2 point convertible.  Same front sling point as the other MOE, Magpul ASAP on the rear.  It works a lot better than I expected it would in both evolutions, I'm very happy with the results, and I think this version is my new standard sling for ARs.

Butler Creek sling,
for varmits not people. (at least I hope not)

QD on one end, buckle on other, for quick removal.

It's comfortable, but my velco in rifle case is eating it up!

I bought a sling from a gun show that looked just like that one. The hook fell apart within a couple days and the straps were coming apart within 1 day.

Bought the Magpul sling and loving it.

Anyone know of a place on-line place to sell AR stuff (besides craigs list and e-bay) like say a free float quad rail? I saw that you can's post "for sale" items on here.

I need to know more about the loop hook deal on the MOE handguard.  Exact setup I'm looking for.

http://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=2&f=124&t=183475

Here's a cut-and-paste of my original text since you're not a Team Member with archive access:

This idea was inspired by a gentleman at another site - he used one of these to cleanly add a HK loop to the rear side of an A2 handguard. It's an ingenious idea that works well for the MOE.

Here is his idea cobbled up to test; assuming I don't find any problems with the concept I'll square up and Loctite the nuts, chemically blacken or blue it, then drill one new hole rearward of the last side slot and mount it through this new hole and the rear of the slot:

(pic of mockup)

This is the loop from a 1/8" wire rope clip and four new jam nuts to fit (they're thinner than the original nuts). I cut the threaded portion off beyond the inside nuts, there's plenty of clearance between the loop and the heat shield. It actually works fine in this position, but I'd like to move it a little further rearward. I also have a 3/16" version that I may try, I'd have to file it slightly thinner to fit through the slot but it would give a larger loop.

I never bothered drilling the hole, it worked fine in the slot.

NOOOOOO!!!!!!!  I eagerly looked through all the pages searching for  the answer to my question only to be let down.  Someone here has to know what happened to the OP of that awesome front attachment point.  How do you just drop off the best gun forum on the planet?  Did he turn librard or something? (this is where someone will reply that he died and I will look like a dumb ass   )

Yep, and while fully collapsed you still have full function of the sling swivel, you just can't take it off obviously.

I replaced my ghetto snaphook mount (shown above) with a new Mount-N-Slot Snap Hook mount.  I like how it gets the sling hardware up and out of the way of my support hand; also, it hangs well in this position.
