I bought a sling from a gun show that looked just like that one. The hook fell apart within a couple days and the straps were coming apart within 1 day. Bought the Magpul sling and loving it. |

It's a 1.5" model with the M4 stock connector, I used a MASH on the front. A very quick, comfy, stable sling! I need to know more about the loop hook deal on the MOE handguard. Exact setup I'm looking for. |

It's an ingenious idea that works well for the MOE.
Here is his idea cobbled up to test; assuming I don't find any problems with the concept I'll square up and Loctite the nuts, chemically blacken or blue it, then drill one new hole rearward of the last side slot and mount it through this new hole and the rear of the slot: (pic of mockup) This is the loop from a 1/8" wire rope clip and four new jam nuts to fit (they're thinner than the original nuts). I cut the threaded portion off beyond the inside nuts, there's plenty of clearance between the loop and the heat shield. It actually works fine in this position, but I'd like to move it a little further rearward. I also have a 3/16" version that I may try, I'd have to file it slightly thinner to fit through the slot but it would give a larger loop. I never bothered drilling the hole, it worked fine in the slot. |

Will give it a try, thanks.

Someone here has to know what happened to the OP of that awesome front attachment point. How do you just drop off the best gun forum on the planet? Did he turn librard or something? (this is where someone will reply that he died and I will look like a dumb ass ) |

Yep, and while fully collapsed you still have full function of the sling swivel, you just can't take it off obviously. |
