Already a couple topics on this trigger exactly. I will believe it when I see several working in the wild, this isn’t the first 10/22 FRT that has been advertised. And there are several problems to overcome, I am hoping that MARS has been successful but I am not willing to gamble almost 300 yet that they have. I would also like to see a 3 position FRT for the 10/22. One of the many problems as detailed in the other threads, is that the 10/22 has considerable bolt bounce. Not a problem in a slow rate of fire, but if you look at the Norrel transferable full auto 10/22 trigger packs, they included a free weight in the bolt to act as a dead blow to tame bolt bounce. I suspect that the same will be needed for a functioning FRT in the 10/22 |

A guy at our Gun Club brought a TX22 with an FRT and extended mags to the range and I got to shoot it. I must say, as somebody that actually owns a transferable machine gun… I have no idea how all these new 22LR+FRT set ups aren’t actually machine guns… but I like it. I really kind of wanna buy one, but then I’d feel like I’m cheating on my machine gun - LOL. |

I would also like to know how they deal with the effect of drag on the bolt motion when the device is pressed down by the bolt and your trying to push it up with the trigger? |

I don't want a gun that I can't choose to shoot semi. I'm glad these are working for folks that want them. But they need a way to be turned on and off. |

My buddy was an early pre-order. We dropped it in his gun and it manually functioned extremely well without any fitting or filing. Live fire didn’t go well. It was mainly short recoil stroke and the accompanying FTE malfs. This happened regardless of ammo or how lightly we tried to pull the trigger Very disappointing. We’re going to try a different (longer) barrel and polishing the lever next Hopefully there will be more shoot reports from others soon |

They barely function as is and adding any drag to the bolt is going to require modification, maybe a light Mosquito bolt from volquartsen but then you introduce other problems. |

Watching that video on tuning with a dremel grinding bit - that's a big pass for me. Aka no I will not be buying a Mars FRT trigger. |

The bolt doesn’t get stuck which is what seems to be primarily addressed in the video. We’ll try polishing the lever first and also putting a longer barrel on which should help with back pressure. The current barrel we tried is integrally suppressed. It works in semi but maybe the integral is robbing enough energy to not let the FRT work More to follow |

I still only care about and want 3 position FRTs. I have tried shooting singles in the third position and it is *possible*, but not while trying to aim precisely. I get that probably 99% of people will use these as range toy bullet hoses. That's my use case as well. But I also want to be able to use the same guns for aimed, precise shots without having to disassemble them and install or remove parts. For those who don't care about that amd just want to make noise and grin while burning ammo, I'm glad these exist as an option. |

My buddy polished the top of the FRT lever. That resolved the short stroke related problems. With mini-mags he’s now getting bolt home, live round in the chamber, and hammer down. This is probably the dreaded bolt bounce. He’ll next try different ammo to see if he can magically get the bounce timing right If that doesn’t work then we’ll try putting my Norrell bolt in |

Well holy cow. I received a shipping notification that my mars trigger is on the way. I’ve got a paclite 10/22 and I bought my boy one of those trump fight, fight, fight rifles from psa a while back. I want a shorty like a charger with folding brace / stock. Where can you get something like that. If it’s an sbr I’d prefer it as they transfer so much quicker these days. |

But I was looking for a custom builder. Think A-Team stainless Mini14 look. Doesn’t have to be perfect, just kind of have that feel. Integral suppression a plus. I’m not in the 10/22 scene so I’m not familiar if there are smiths out there that specialize in that kind of thing. |

Stock like this? https://www.samson-mfg.com/b-tm-folding-stock-for-the-ruger-1022.html Volquartsen stainless barreled action https://volquartsen.com/products/1055-rifle-with-stainless-action/configure Or a stock Ruger carbine, take out the action and add an AB Suppressor MELB barrel https://www.cabelas.com/p/Ruger-1022-Carbine-Semi-Auto-Rimfire-Rifle https://www.absuppressor.com/melb I found a gunshow Charger and put this one together in a few minutes after the paperwork cleared ![]() |

@hitchhiker Can you walk us thru what exact parts you have on that bad boy? Looks like a Choate folder with a custom stock swapped in, plus a 3D printed front end? I want a stock like that…. And I want a working 10/22 FRT! |

Never could get it to run- it just passed the basic function test. I have a newer iteration that is more robust and uses better mechanical advantage than the MARS design, but it would be harder to manufacture. Im guessing they just played with hammer and recoil springs to get the timing right for the hammer hitting the firing pin right before the bolt bounce begins. I never overcame the bolt bounce, and kinda want to try their spring set with my trigger design. Mine is based on a ruger BX drop-in trigger housing, uses a propriatery trigger and few other parts though. And you lose the bolt lock feature. Dude that is awesome. I’m digging the stock and sights. That’s probably beyond my scope to build unfortunately. |

The MARS trigger does look similar to what I was designing. It looks like the MARS resets the trigger on the counter recoil of the bolt. Is this correct? |

other mod to the choate I did was replace the hinge pin with a slightly larger dowel pin for a firmer lockup. Stock feels welded in place in both the open and closed position. Zero wobble.
