| How's the weight? I saw one of their prototype mags back when they just announced them, they seemed well made but I figured it'd have to be a heavy pig when loaded. The 60rd'er wouldn't be too bad (it'd be like having a duplex mag setup), but 100rds? Seems it'd feel like a Beta-C almost |

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the 100 rounders. They are too long and unwieldy looking for my tastes. I'd much rather have a reliable beta C style drum set up for 100 rounds than any type of magazine.
The 60 rounders, on the other hand, look very appealing. Just waiting for the price to drop down to a more reasonable level. Considering that they supposedly worked with the engineer who designed the original 20 round armalite magazines, it would be surprising to me if these were not reliable. The vast majority of reports reflect positive function, with a few reports of problems or issues of one kind or another, which is enough to take into account normal manufacturing QC variances. Keep in mind that for every customer that complains due to a defective product, there are 10 who do not have issues and do not post. |

Fincho, I had read about your problems before I bought mine and when I finally got mine, I to had problems with mine. Mine didn't have the same problem as yours, but instead it had the problem of the follower not pushing the rounds leaving loose rounds to fall out. I did call surefire and of course was told to send it back, at my expense, or I could take it apart and see if it was assembled correctly which is what I did and it was assembled correctly. It's like the follower is getting stuck. It is still slugish but it is starting to work better, but I will still send it back eventually. No matter how carefully I removed the spring I still had lots of flaking of the gold material covering the springs. Did your springs flake off from removing yours as well ? It's unavoidable since the springs are so difficult to remove. Anyway I guess some of the surfire mags just have a few QC issues. YMMV

Yup, and that Magazine looks complicated. I may still get one as a range toy if the prices come down, but no way am I spending $110-120 on one. |

I have had good luck with mine.
The videos were posted. The 100 had some issues on auto but not semi. |

One thing on these mags they work great with ammo at 2.25 or less overall length. At the last match all of us were running surefires and the RO had several malfunctions with his and I checked his ammo and it was seated out longer than mine and the bullet noses were rubbing against the front. I gave him some of my ammo seated at 2.246 and it ran great. Definately a weakness but not a deal killer for me.

I purchased the Surefire 60 round magazine for $100.00 and test fired it last week. 60 rounds in about 13 seconds -Semi-auto through a Colt 6550. No jams. Works well and the magazine weight is not really noticeable. Construction is equal to normal Colt magazines. I would suggest not taking it apart until necessary. The test fire video is below. Enjoy!
