Looking for a 11.5-12.5 ish heavier contour barrel similar to a spr or dmr contour. Intending to build a precision type sbr with it. Probably will be suppressed 75% of time if not more. Is there a off the shelf option or is this something for Paladin to spin up?

Lots of options out there.
i just put a direct thread Ecco 5x5 on a stainless Black Rain 10.5, it's a shooter.

Centurion Arms Mk12 barrel is available in 12.5 carbine. They also have their RECCE barrel available in 13.25, 13.7, and 14.5 all in mid length gas.

If you really wanna ball, they have their RECCE barrel in 14.5 that's dimpled. Oooooooh

If you are fine with a short heavy barrel what about a longer light barrel so you can actually achieve good velocity? A 12.5 isn’t necessarily slow, but even a lighter profile 14.5” can be very accurate still.

If you want a short, fat, heavy barrel, BCA is where you need to be.

JK, but they do have a lot of short, fat, heavy barrels

Take a look here: Thoroughbred Armament - Upper Receiver groups 8 - 12.5 in.

They also offer barrels only. I think they have SOCOM profile barrels, but IIRC those are 14.5 inch. I highly recommend them; no financial interest.

The Centurion 12.5 mk 12 seems to be really what I am looking for, the cost is up there though.

I am good with the velocity I would get from a 11.5-12.5. Looking to stay that length to keep the OAL about the same as a 16 carbine with the can on it.

I’ve had very good accuracy out if my rainier arms 12.5” mountain barrel. It seems to favor light bullets and a 50gr vmax over lt30 powder is an absolute laser. Regular hits at a 66% ipsc silhouette at 500 yards isn’t too difficult .

I also got very good accuracy with a vseven 10.5 stainless barrel. I swapped to the rainier when I decided to just leave the can on it all the time

@blk99 do you feel like the ranier is gassed well for dedicated suppressed?

I’m not certain, but Criterion or WOA might have something. Xcaliber or Mos Tek will for sure make one for you. Noveske also probably has a barrel that suits your requirements.

Mine was a bit over gassed. I’m running a superlative bleed off gb and a h2 buffer. Considering trying a h3

Edit: I’ve never ran this barrel without a can. It’s got a couple thousand rounds down it

How about cutting down a Colt SOCOM barrel?

Criterion Core 12.5 with a BRT gas tube would be a solid option

I have three centurion stainless barrels and they are ALL shooters.

I had the gas blocks pinned too.  How they do it really is neat.

Strongly encourage you to get one from them. The crew over there is amazing as well.  They usually run some good holiday sales too.  The Memorial Day sale was insane.
