| The Sig 516 is the most under appreciated piston AR that exists. It is a great rifle and you will get many years of enjoyment out of shooting it. I've owned many over the years, two 10" SBR's at present. Ultra reliable, accurate shooting, pleasant recoil impulse. I would trust my 516's in any situation. |
| Agreed. Own a 516 upper I bought a few years ago. Probably shouldn't tell you what I paid for it (I think it was under $600). Shoot it mostly suppressed with an Sig can I picked up off this forum. So far it has been 100% reliable and pretty soft shooting. And one thing people don't really talk about, but mine has been pretty accurate as well. Hammers 5" steel plates and prairie dog plates (about 2-3" across and 10-12" high) at 200 yards. I realize that's not spectacular, but it's still not bad for a gun with a 10.5" barrel and a 4x prism that's not really set up to be a DMR. |
