Because some of these new holographics that are coming have 8 different reticles. Thats insane. Whoever comes out with dedicated 2.26/2.91 cqb bdc holdovers will dominate the game. I dont even know why no one is doing this. Remember this is in the AR forum. All other platforms that starts at 3" HOB need not say their opinions. |

I mean I’ve always kinda hated BDCs in Eotechs The 68 moa ring and 1 moa dot is good enough. Extra dots just squash together There is the DOT EHs-1 that’s an integral 2.2 mount anyway https://dotusa.com/ |

CQB BDCs are practically universal regardless of length or caliber. The only thing that would affect the CQB BDC is HOB. I dont think DOT uses a 136 MOA circle or have any CQB BDC markers for 7 yards or even 25 yards. |

Not to say they couldn’t sell it to people Zero at 100 yards And the bottom of the ring is fine for room clearing and down halls and stuff. The DCR is reticle or segmented typee look a little better but meh |

Your painted rifle is ugly, but I’m uglier, so send it to me and I’ll make it look good!
If it weren’t for double standards, we’d have no standards at all.

Plenty of folks in units where the gov will buy them whatever they want go with Eotech, especially if their job requires actually using the gun for a living. H2 and T2 are incredible optics. They still give up a fair amount of performance (if you're in a job where tens and hundreds of a second matter) for a broad range of short-distance shooting tasks. I'm excited to enter an era where Trijicon or Aimpoint can compete directly with Eotech on a holographic sight. Eotech's biggest limitation has been a dearth of creativity brought on by market dominance. |

Units that have the budget to have boxes full of eotechs for when they inevitably go down, and get an opportunity to PCC their gear before every operation. With the caveat that you get to check it before ever using it, and having spares on hand when it breaks, yeah they’re great optics. If you want to pick it up and count on it working, you picked the wrong optic. If you need a NVG optic and don’t mind it sometimes not working or needing periodic delamination work, then it does have a place. I’ve seen lots issued. I’ve owned lots of personal examples. Their strengths are generally overshadowed by their weaknesses for most use cases. They have a place on missions where SF types get to elect when/how they go into a fight, and recreational night shooting. They fall apart in reliability moreso than durability. I would absolutely pick an EXPS in such a scenario. This has been discussed as nauseum. Edit, also, I’m positive Aimpoint has exactly zero interest in releasing a holographic sight. They’re not the best company at branching out, especially towards an inferior way of doing what they’ve already mastered. |
