OK, I'm certain someone will come in to shit on my idea, but here goes anyway.... I tried the large ambi handles but hated the way they dug into my chest of back when having the rifle slung. I took the std Mil Spec and filed down the hook that required the lever to be unlatched. By doing this it is more of a hump than a hook and can slide over the stop vs. being hooked and needing to be opened before the handle can be pulled. I can charge the handle from the left or right. Grind/file more for easier pull, less for harder pull. Basically I made it a ramp instead of a hook. there are charging handles that use this concept, but 'this is the spring-loaded charging handle we have at home". I also added a bit of grip tape to the handle portion that you pull with your fingers |
| The newest Armageddon Tactical EVO Edge is my favorite. Not oversized and great and redirected gas for suppressed shooting, in fact may be best in category...and I've tried a lot. |

I dont think it will do much for supressor gas if you need that. The newer ones are ambi. Give them a look for a solid low profile option. I dont know if anyone ever breaks charging handles. Maybe if you morter? But most of them have the wing hinged which makes me think there is a role pin or something holding all the force. One thing i like about the LMT is that it is all one peice like a USGI. Dont know if it matters or not. |
