Sorta on-topic: Security clearance - even years and years ago? On a list. Professional license? On a list. Any kind of FFL (including - maybe especially - C&R)? On a list. Maybe we need a thread about who’s on the most lists for the most different things. Me? I have a couple boxes of .22LR…. Does that get me on a list?

The 12GA is mainly my handloads of 00 buck and my home cast slugs. I have added close to 1000 between slugs and buck. Plus probably 500+ winAA birdshot bought at a gunshow for cheap. 22 has been a few thousand, mostly better quality stuff (no cheap bulk for me). Eley, SK, RWS, etc... Still, not posting pictures online. Call me paranoid. |

Do you fill it as much as you can or is there a limit? |

Even on ARF I submit. Having said that. I realized that 308/7.62 does not stack well. Meaning it takes a shytload of space and weight to stack any decent amount. That's why I got out of 308. Rightly or wrongly. I am not trolling, just saying. I think the 6K you got fits into the same space 1000 308 rounds do. (I am exaggerating of course but kind of). Fat-50 is a great storage device for 223 on stripper clips. Forgot the amount takes, around 2K? More than 1K for sure. 12 gauge is even worse. To get any quantity, you need a a metric ton of space. Once you accept that, it gets easier. Not judging, just observing. 5.56 is infinitely easier to stack/move/transport/etc. Not to mention cheaper. 22LR is amazing. Hard to believe how compact 7000 rounds is. I know, captain_obvious.gif The other thing that surprised me is how heavy a 50-cal ammo can gets when full of loose 9mm/40S&W/whatever. The 'fat 50' is even worse. You need weight training to move two of these any distance. In retrospect it's kind of obvious but you don't really believe it until you try it. It does get manageable if you use the slim 30-cal ammo cans. |
