Hey, I wanted to reply to a thread I saw recently but can't find it. Anyway, he wanted to know what was good when your rifle gets 'ashy'-looking. I found out that WD-40 absolutely is the thing for this. 'Fog' it and store - it has a nice appearance for a long time.

Then you would really like Strikehold. It's like WD40 on steroids. It's a CLP and works great on electronics too.

@T-TAC what kind of finish does it leave? Greasy? Shiny?
Smooth?
Eezox is by far the best finisher I have used but it's toxic as hell.

A oil finish, keeps rust off the guns in the vault for a year.
