| Now that Anderson is done who has the cheap stripped or complete upper receivers? |
|
I have bought multiple stripped PSA lowers for $40 each. Rollmark varies. Sometimes they have 3 packs that make it $30ea. And blems. Complete lowers are as cheap as $99 sometimes. I see their stealth classic complete is $99 right now. |
| blem BCM or DS Arms are $50 for a complete right now, they have all been Mueller forge, dogbone-marked for me |

OP, still plenty of Anderson uppers available for ~$40 on various websites, for now. |

DSA sold me several Mueller/dogbone stripped uppers awhile back that were undisclosed blems. And then went silent during comms about getting a RMA. Shit bags. |

Just curious but what was the blem problems and time frame? Not doubting you I have received less than stellar customer service by many companies. |

Not doubting you I have received less than stellar customer service by many companies. Summer 2024. The upper receivers when pinned to a lower (several lowers/several manufacturers) are offset, overhanging the lower receiver. Attached File Function has been fine with the one that I pieced together but cosmetically it lacks in comparison to the Anderson receivers that I own. |

Dang you TiG! Now you're going to make me go look at the two stripped A4 uppers I bought from DSA in 2021! |

Dang you TiG! Now you're going to make me go look at the two stripped A4 uppers I bought from DSA in 2021! AFAIK, it is limited to the dogbone uppers that Demco machined. Discussed quite a bit on a few forums which is what prompted me to check mine out. Too bad that I found out late. What sucks is DSA went silent on me midway during our comms about returning them. Unfortunately this was just after they abandoned their Industry Forum here. I dealt with Mike here in their forum quite a bit in the past, great guy and always quick to make customers happy. All good things end I guess. |

This are old photos; I haven't pulled the rifle out yet. They look like they might be okay. ![]()

| Interestingly enough I checked my DSA upper and it overhangs on all my lowers to varying extents except for an old Colt Target lower which happens to be the one was using it on. |

Had problems from on sale brand cheap uppers over the years and miss the Andersons that never fell into the blem out of spec for the ad upper. Funny that Anderson shows a booth at 2026 shot show. https://n2a.goexposoftware.com/events/ss26/goExpo/exhibitor/viewExhibitorProfile.php?__id=2285 |

Daytona Tactical has Anderson stripped uppers for $37. https://daytonatactical.com/products/anderson-manufacturing-ar-15-stripped-upper-receiver-black/ KM Tactical has No-Name stripped uppers for $38. https://kmtactical.net/product/stripped-ar-15-upper-receiver/ |

That is probably what I got from DSA also and like one of the above posters, they do overhang on some lowers that I have. They are not dogbone, as they were only about $40 each. Since I did not build with them right away, I never noticed it until I felt it was too late to do anything about. I think they'll work fine. Mostly a cosmetic issue. |

Overhanging uppers is a problem? I consider it a win if the pivot and takedown pins go in, the rear lug drops into the lower, and it can be fully opened on the pivot pin without interfering with the lower. If a file is not required... |

Well, I pulled out the still-in-package upper and tried it out on a couple lowers I have. It's a Mueller A4, not an M4A1, and no dogbone. It's slightly offset to the right on both lowers, but not enough to keep me awake at night. On this Anderson lower, the upper actually looks slightly narrow on both sides at the mag well. ![]() ![]() And, on this 80% lower, it's definitely right-oriented. But, I can live with it. ![]()

I have used a lot of their uppers over the years and they are my upper of choice. Tight enough that barrels fit with a snug but firm push but not so tight as to need heat. Three are on the way thanks to your post. |
