The setup: Stag Arms factory AR10 in .308 with 16in barrel and mid gas, collapsible stock with standard short AR10 buffer and standard AR10 buffer spring. Standard BCG and Q Trash Panda suppressor. Modifications: Superlative Arms adjustable gas block. On the 4th click out from fully closed/restricted, it runs reliably with supersonic and locks back on empty mag every time. Swap ammo to subsonic and it won't even eject the spent case when gas block is fully open (18 clicks from closed). Undergassed. I don't want to open the gas port. What are my options if any? Am I being realistic to want it to function with subs and supers? Thanks |

What subsonic .308 Win ammo are you trying to use? Not all propellants are equal. But yeah I've been down this road, you can open the actual gas port some and may get it to work and then dial it back down with the adjustable block with supers. They make reduced power springs that can help too but usually not great with supers. In my opinion you aren't going to find a happy medium where it runs subs and supers with actual reliability without having to make adjustments etc. |

What's the point of even having an adjustable gas block then when the gas you're adjusting isn't enough to be adjusted to begin with? |
