Has anyone seen these? Thoughts? I’m assuming manufactured by Wilcox as part of the Turkish KCR556 system under US contract. Curious how the quality is. Upper |

I know Wilcox had partnered with Caracal to manufacture 816’s in the US. I’d speculate that this is a similar scenario. Caracal & Wilcox article Looking at the pics of the barrel markings on ArmsUnlimited, it looks like it has a Daniel Defense barrel? If I was sure I could mount a suppressor I’d probably buy one to try. I’m hoping someone else will Guinea Pig. |

I read through that thread but nobody really has any real data. Kind of seems like HK purists shitting on others products. They fail to grasp that this is not a Turkish made product but rather US made under contract. It does seem pointless if you can’t mount a suppressor though. There is also this thread: |

Hasn’t Wilcox been HK’s US-partner for 416 stuff for a long time? That said, this doesn’t look like a 416 and is labeled a KCR556 which is a Turkish piston gun from Kale Kalip. I’m sure it’s just fine, all of these AR things made under contract usually are, but it’s not an HK416/MR556. It is curious how/why a niche Turkish gun is being built under license in the US going back to whatever that manufacture date on the box said. So if you want a copy of the original Turkish gun which hasn’t been imported in the US at all as far as I am aware, it’s a legit buy but if you’re hoping for a cheaper HK416 clone it definitely isn’t that, anymore than a Sig 516 or Caracal 816 is a 1:1 copy of a 416. I passed on it myself after seeing how different that gas block was and then tracking down the model number. My interests are pretty specific to the HK system with a strong curiosity about the Arad for when the standalone upper kits start shipping. |

Yeah, IWI’s store is pretty much full MSRP - I’m hoping it’ll be a little more like the MR556 A4 upper kits that were routinely 400-500 under MSRP. Though they’re all sold out right now.  If it shakes out that the uppers are only through IWI for around the same total price, I guess I’d just get the entire gun instead. Not sure when they plan on shipping them but it’s early in the product cycle yet. On the upside, no one has been trashing the Arad in reviews at least, so it seems solid! |
