I have a Def10 that I'm going to remove the 2 piece hand guard and install a freefloat Armalite. What receiver block is cheap and will still do the job without screwing up the upper receiver? After this I don't plan to ever use it again. |

Not exactly cheap but worth every penny. Midwest Industries upper receiver rod is incredible. For a single use I suppose it would be hard to justify the cost unless you’re willing to sell it at reduced price after you are done with it, or maybe you should let someone who already has the proper tools do the job for you. IMO the NCStar mentioned below should be considered. I have not used it but I have used their lower receiver holding fixture a lot for assembling the lower and installing the receiver extension and it is a great tool. I would wager the upper receiver tool is a good solid choice also. |

Got a discounted receiver block because it had a aesthetic blemish that didn't meet their QC. The block worked good. The factory installed barrel nut was loose when I went to remove it with an armorer's wrench. No tension at all. No sign of any grease on the threads. The gas block wasn't very snug either. Way too easy to back out the 2 allen head screws. The armorer at Armalite must have been smokin' sumtin. ETA: barrel fit to upper receiver was good. Very little play and the barrel extension had grease on it. Only shot the rifle once since buying it new several years ago. |

The Plastixrevolution receiver block worked well when I used it and didn't mar the upper's finish. Suppose it's called NO-M.A.R. for a reason. :) Ian was nice and gave me a quick tour of the place. Plastic is formed and then milled in a second operation on-site. The block I received was a reject, but I really couldn't tell anything wrong with it. Definitely nothing with fit or function. Armalite upper fit in the block perfect. It's also made to fit an AR15 receiver. |

I had to modify mine a bit for something I was doing but other than that it was great. |
