So I think I want a Razor 1-6, and a Gen II for cost. It's for a 14.5. What reticle to pick and why? MRAD / MOA / JM-1 / or the crazy EBR-7F (I say this because I've read all the forums about the reticle vs turret difference.) Talk me into something else? I'd like to buy nice glass, not to cheap, not $3-4K either. I feel from everything I've read and seen in video, its the overall best option. And I do like the color. TIA |

What is it for? Its a great optic, very clear. Heavy bitch though. I don’t own one, can actually afford one. I would really like the 1-10 but the $2500 has me shy. I shoot a few 3 gun matches a year and use the PST 1-6x and I have a C-More 1-6x which works great. I like a simple reticle. The JM-1 would be my choice. |

After all these years its still highly regarded for its everything it brings to the table. They can be had for $800-1000 on the used market, maybe even cheaper if you find a non-E. Comes down to if you want crosshairs from center to edge or in the middle of the glass with the newer EBR7f option. If you want crosshairs throughout then choose BDC/MRAD/MOA options. Newer EBR7f reticle seems to have brighter and less bloom of illumination. Has range finder, with BDC and windholds then mil drops below. Developed for the Rangers for their 14.5 URGIs with 855A1 so you'll want to calc your own drops and maintain dope. |

I’ve had the MRAD, JM-1, and now I’ve got the EBR-7F. The EBR is, by far, my favorite reticle for it. I use strelok/Chairgun elite to verify my drops, and I’ve used it pretty effectively out to 550m or yards (don’t remember what the unit of measure was at the 2gun range), using fiocchi 55gr. Image feels less cluttered, and I like having a dedicated ranging estimation reticle outside of the drop reticle. The floating dot is also more appealing than the crosshair. |

| JM-1 is simple and effective. The Vortex Razor gen ii is one of the best buys you can make on the used optic market right now. Incredible value for the money. |

Big fan of the EBR-7F Razor. 1200 with mount and extras from Euro optic. 50/200 62gr BDC is close enough for 5.56 spec 55gr and 62gr out of 14.5” and 16” barrels. 11.5” and 10” guns, or using 70+ grain ammo, should be checked with a ballistic calculator to see where your holds line up and whether or not you should adjust your zero distance. |

Thanks for all the recommendations. I was thinking hard about the EBR-7F at Euro. I will drive there and pick it up directly. I read somewhere that someone got one that had machining chips under the anodizing of the mount as well as scope caps screwed down lopsided. I’d like to do a hands on inspection prior to taking possession. ***Has anyone removed one from the included mount? To find horrible ring marks? I would only remove it to get a lighter mount that is an upgrade.*** What is it being used for? Fun. Nothing else. Just wanting a nice optic for a 14.5 that just sits. Don’t want another red dot. Especially for a 14.5 that has the potential to reach out past dot capability. I like to shoot 62 and 77 MK262. |

Mine was canted in the mount a lot, like maybe 15-20 degrees and the top rings were terrible. One side touching and the other side a huge gap on both rings. It was a bitch to get Vortex to take it in too because the lady I spoke to said “we absolutely do not sell scopes pre-mounted take it up with Eurooptic they did it” and proceeded to call me a liar endlessly no matter how much I tried to explain to her she didn’t know what she was talking about. Eventually she just agreed to let me send it in (my main concern was damage to the scope and I wanted them to make sure their crap mounting didn’t break anything). She demanded I remount it myself and shoot it first before requesting they look at it. I obviously said absolutely not to wasting time and money to fix their mistake and seeing if anything was broken. They eventually took it back and I received it back good as new with a clean bill of health and proper mounting. Never did hear back from that lady though. Too bad. |

I had zero shift with an issued Razor 1-6 on a URGI. At the time I wrote it off as trash Vortex quality. We also had a URGI barrel come loose and the accuracy on my upper was abysmal. In hindsight many early URGIs had some issues that were ironed out. Picked up the EBR-7F personally out of curiosity and the rings were not torqued properly, although it was level…. Wow lol. After tightening up the ring this setup is actually pretty sick. I wonder how many issued Razors have to this issue right now…  Originally Posted By JamesAR: Enjoy using the Vortex warranty. | I remounted mine in a NF Ultramount, mainly because I don’t do 1.5 height mounts. Seemed mounted correctly with no damage. My buddy just got one and it seemed mounted properly as well, may tell him to hit the screws with a torque screwdriver just in case. |
