None of the wrenches I have will fit the barrel nut of the Aero Precision M5E1.

Which one(s) will work?

Standard GI M-16 wrench. Every combo wrench I've ever seen has this interface. I recommend the Magpul Armorer's Wrench. I have installed hundreds of M5E1 barrel nuts with the Magpul wrench.

The Atlas barrel nut uses a proprietary wrench flat.

What type of hand guard does the OP have?  Older rails used to work with the GI armorers tool, however some newer barrel nuts which have flats to accommodate open end wrenches.  I have a few rails which used a 1 1/4" wrench I bought at a hardware store.  The last two rails I bought required a 1 3/16" wrench.  I checked the local hardware and auto parts stores, and couldn't find one.  I ended up taping a few shims inside the mouth of the 1 1/4" wrench to reduce it's size.

The M4E1 takes a 3 or 4 pin armorers wrench, don't know if the M5 is the same I have used 'GI' armorers wrench and something like a Tapco wrench which is what Aero recommends. 30mm is .005" larger than 1 3/16" and has worked well for me.
