Today I stopped by my local gun shop to take a peek around the shop! Low and behold, there was a pristine Colt AR15A2 Gov. Carbine in about 99.9% condition! Of course, the guys at the shop say its unfired! I picked it up for a very reasonable price! We now have to wait 72 hours before picking up a firearm after purchase. My first A2 model! Does anybody know when this Colt was manufactured? Ser.# is GC 007737 Any help is greatly appreciated! |

After Emailing Colt, they got back to me this afternoon. It was made in 1992. A few observations on this model. Two position N1 buttstock. Super light with pencil barrel. Perhaps a little over 5lbs! I prefer the Car-15 skinny stock to the thick M4 carbine stock. I don't really like looping the silent sling through the butstock. I'll get to put some led downrange if the weather holds out this weekend. P.S. I would like to thank JMolden87 for helping me out with a st of Car-15 handguards for my Colt Match Target Carbine! |
