Hey guys (and gals). I'm in the process of building an AR10 on a stripped upper/lower that is in FDE. I'd like to keep the color of all parts FDE (I know not all FDEs match) and the buffer tube that I want to use (VLTOR A5) does not have any color options other than black. How difficult would it be for me to strip the coating and cerakote it in FDE? My tools and equipment are on the very basic side

Thanks Tig.

Not difficult at all. Do you have an air compressor and detail gun? If so, on that you can forgo the media blasting and just degrease with some brake clean or acetone and hand sand it with a greanie pad then it just takes a few thin coats and either use the H or E series and cure in the oven @ 250* for 2 hours or get the air dry kind and be patient. Don't strip any coating btw. If you want, either send it to me with a return label and wait for FDE to come up and I will knock it out free or add some for material cost if you need it right back.

I have a compressor, but no gun. I had looked into getting into the coatings some in the past, but decided the extra equipment cost wasn't worth spending for just a couple of rifles and parts. I'm buying the parts 1 at a time so I can put that towards to front of the list if you wouldn't mind helping in that way!
