You need a part number for a buffer tube?

Sounds like maybe you just need a standard buffer tube, spring and buffer?

You put a long one in, as in rifle length in a carbine tube? Yeah... No go.
Edit: You can get various weights of carbine buffers, but they're all the same dimensions. A rifle or A5 won't work in a carbine length tube.

KM tactical had em on sale last week - not sure if still on today, but $20 gets you a milspec with carbine weight buffer.  just the tube, spring, weight, castle nut, and end plate that the castle nut interacts with.

Do you have the right buffer/ spring to go with your buffer tube?  A rifle buffer is longer, and is used with a rifle buffer tube.  A carbine buffer is shorter, and used with a carbine buffer tube.

Unless you have a 20" Rifle the one you ordered will work fine for carbine, pistol or mid-length AR's. I have a half dozen of them or so.

Gas system is independent of buffer tube/components.

Decide which you want: rifle or carbine. Match the components accordingly.

Rifle spring / buffer /rifle tube.
Carbine spring / buffer / carbine tube and associated.

^ This. I was trying to simplify it for you. Typically with a rifle length system folks will have a fixed stock and the longer tube and buffer. You can config it however you want. If you want an adjustable stock then what you ordered will be just fine. Only your desire to tune is the limit with either adjustable gas block/tube/bcg or different weight buffers. KAK has a kit I use to dial in the weights and it is as easy as removing a roll pin in the buffer and changing the tungsten weights. You can also play with spring weights if wanted. I just had a 300 bo come across that a weaker flat spring fixed up.
