Take a look at this thread on a short .300 BO build. I didn't do a shorty but went 16" .223 on mine. The JTAC is a sold piece, stock is tight, no wobble. You wouldn't be dissapointed. https://www.ar15.com/forums/precision-rifles/JTAC-Screech-Owl-Chassis-Mini-Review/3-10616/?
