Will be running a Nomad 30 on a 300 BO barrel. Need it to be as quite as possible. I already have a 7.5 upper but it's too loud. Am I needing a 16, 18 or 20 inch upper for quiet subs? Sub powder is a 1680 if that matters. |
| 1680 is a loud powder. I doubt you’ll see a huge difference by the increasing your barrel length; besides, shooting subs from a 20” is pretty ludicrous. Switching away from a semi auto, or using a gas block to restrict or shut off the gas makes more sense. The Nomad 30 isn’t a bad can but there’s quieter stuff out there now too. |

I have plenty of Lil Gun on the bench. Most say its quiet but there are reports of it being too hot and causing copper to end up where it shouldn't. Does H322 offer less noise? I can get that locally without shipping and hazmat. |

I burned a gas tube up in my first 300blk AR in under 1000rds, some of those rounds being hot supers. FWIW my 10.5 is quieter than my 8.5 with all things the same. Fixed action with pistol powder is real deal quiet. Port pop sucks with AR's in general, worse with old tech higher pressure cans, flow style cans help |

is this just for general blasting or for hunting , do you still need good terminal ballistics i download 220gr pills to about 950 fps for my 6" barreled ar with an old aac sdn-6 suppressor and besides buffer spring/action noise it seems as quiet as my ruger ranch with a 16" barrel and a rex mg7 suppressor i've been useing shooters world blackout and it's been a great powder to work with |

I have a 10" and 16" 300BLK rifle. Both are AR pattern. They are identical except for the length (same parts). I run a Nomad L and a Scythe Ti on them. Using subs, the 16" upper is dramatically quieter, regardless of which can I'm using. Supers, doesn't matter, the supersonic crack is the loudest noise when firing. Although a long stick, the 16" with Nomad L is ridiculously quiet with subs, and despite the length, one of my favorite guns. Not great to move around with in brush and doing a run and gun kinda sucks with it, but moving around in reasonably open areas and hitting steel targets, it's just great fun. |

It’s quieter by far - indoors - than my Porter Cable pneumatic nail gun I used without ear pro all the time, which is a bigger contributor to my tinnitus than shooting firearms ever was.  I was shocked how quiet it was. |
