I am cloning a SOPMOD M4, I would love to see your pics of yours!

I had a M4 since 1990, I figure I had some type of configuration one time or another. First M4 I had, it had the original round handguard, I used an ARMS mount on carrying handle with a Tasco Propoint that have a T reticle in it.

My first M4 flat top had the ACOG NSN the the RIS.

This one is a RAS with the ARMS super extend Mod SWAM sleeve, and a Reflex.  I am working on a ARMS throw lever mount for the reflex to lower the sight, or maybe a new Aimpoint M2 sight with the ARMS mount.  I am holding this purchase until I can see the new Tri-Power from Trijicon at the shot show this year.  I am also looking at building another rifle based on the SIR handguard, or I spend the money on my SL8 conversion .  decision is a bitch.  I need more money.

Good luck on your project.

I sold the Reflex, so now it looks like this, but I camoed it with Bowflage.

I thinking about getting a TA11 ACOG if I can scrap up the funds.

I have the ACOG NSN, it is a nice piece, it dose not have too much eye relief.  I have it mounted on a M5 look alike Bushmaster. it is a bit more useful on a 20 inch gun.  I found it at a gunshow for 700 new in the box.  go to a show, you can find them usually at around 750, make an offer late on Sunday, and see if the guy will give in.

WOW that SWAN sleeve is damn cool.  Can you point me  in the right direction for purchasing one?

Hey fatty, where did you get that bayo lug?? It looks like a removable lug, mounted fwd of the FS. That is sweet!!
Are you using the M4 handguards, or the carbine handguards?

Sure, this pic must be a classic by now...

yeah, it's an add-on bayo-lug. i got it at a show, IIRC, around $15.00-$20.00. TAPCO has them, i think, make sure to get the HBAR version if you have a heavy bbl. the rail system is a Knight's - it has the panels on all rails except the top or 12 o'clock rail. it's not that heavy or cumbersome, believe it or not!

Cat,  I got the sleeve from CFI, it cost me 180 dollars. CFI can be reach via www.remtek.com/arms, Their price seems to be a bit high, but they were the only place stocking those. I don't even see them posted on the ARMS site.

Hope this helps.

Bushmaster M4A3, KAC RAS, older Sure Fire 6V light and sound suppressor. Additions in the near future will be the KAC forward grip and possibly an Aimpoint CompML2, haven´t decided on the mount yet, and a back up iron sight.

Kuiper,

Who makes that rear sight?  I haven't seen any backup sights, fixed or folding, with A1 adjustments before.

Thanks,
Francisco

Francisco,

The backup rear sight is a Diemaco backup sight which is standard issue with all who carry the C7A1 or C8A1 weapons(flattop rifle and or carbine made by Diemaco, Canadian M16's).

The sight has A1 apertures and is made of Delrin, I got mine from a Danish member here. But they are pretty rare to see. The sight works fine though.

Thanks Cnatra.
After the photos were taken, I've added an Insight Technologies M6 (M3 light and vis. laser) to the RAS. Very nice.

The upper M4gery is a dedicated 22 RF using a barrel made by Kurt's Kustom. It has the right bore and twist for 22RF. Lots of fun.

It's a ZM upper which uses a gas system which is somewhat similiar to an AK system. It's all housed in the upper.

lol Bear, I know I know
It got dirt on it because we were told to leave our rifles on the shooting mats during lunch break at the urban rifle course, I just didn't figure it was important to deal with cosmetic stuff, but after seeing the condition after posting the pic I did clean it up a bit

So you've found Colgate Total to clean dirty stocks well?
Link Posted: 12/24/2001 5:09:31 PM EDT

hehe, I actually used soap, the tooth paste just happened to be there.  The stock now is clean but discolored [>(]
Oh well, I jsut ordered the new Colt manufactured 4 position stock that RRA made copies of (mine is RRA and has purple extension tube), so I'll just use this one as a beater.

I can't seen to order the new stock on line from saw.  It will not take.  Does anyone know why?

Technically it's the US Gov't's but I get to use it.

I was issued an Aimpoint, then I used my personal ACOG reflex. I now have a personal TA-11 ACOG on it. Since I am here in Germany and my personal M4orgery is in the States, I try everything out on my issued M4A1.

Dammit Duffy yer smarter 'n me, how the hell did you fix that and get it up there?

Your URL code was different than mine, when I replaced mine with yours it worked.

I tell ya, the instructions on the HP pic hosting site are as clear as mud.

Chair, it doesn't always work, though it did in your case, if a site doesn't allow linking I'd just copy the pic to my local drive, then upload it to webshots and post that instead.  Right click on the pic, go to Properties, copy the url except the http:// part, then paste it in between the img and /img (with brackets).
