Standard RCBS carbide die set, with a couple of friends. A Lee FCD and a second seat die. I have 2 seater dies, 1 with a SWC seating stem, the other for round nose bullets. Remember steel cases are made from soft steel. Dies are made of hardened steel and carbide. I also load 223 steel cases with standard Hornady FL dies, 7.62x39 steel Berdan cases with standard Lee dies. Look for the 7.62x39 loads in a previous post in this thread. Top of the page there is a tutorial, "so you want to load steel cases" for more info.

I got locked for something stupid I will definetly have a quick video up within the next two days. I was going to have pictures up when I said, but I went to make the latest batch shinier but the tumbler started taking off the paint so I had to tumble them for nearly 16 hours over 3 days to take it all off again. The first time I did that, the tumbler didn't take any paint off, so now I have to tumble before I paint. |

They are very shiney and "not grey" as I would expect with Wolf cases. They look cool.

No. These were once fired when I picked them off the ground. They did not have any rust on them. Tumbled them for 1/2 hour in plain corn cob after each firing. Remember these cases have been sized twice. The secret to loading these cases; pretend they are brass cases and load them the same way, and don't worry yourself to death.

It took me 2 minutes on film to paint around 10 of them, but when I stopped filming it took me around 7-8 more minutes to do the last 90 With the primers you just dab some cheap nail polish on, wipe it off and throw it in the tumbler. I do this because these are hot loads and the color on the primer tells me what brass is what and not to use them in any .223 guns. |

This may be stupid but does the paint burn off coming out of the barrell. If so does it leave behind any traces of the paint? There is some on the feed ramps, but that's it. But its dried chips so it wipes right off. The paint is only on the point so it never touches the barrel. Here is after a couple hundred rounds....

I just have a high speed shop fan that at least keeps me dry. I usually limit myself to cranking out a few hundred pistol rounds at a time and then run for the a/c

Normal year we would be having 85 to 90 degree days. Its actually been under 100 for two days in a row now!! Barely lol |
