Hi all. It’s that DRCC time of year again. DRCC 2025 with @Jack_L and I has been scheduled for the first week of October in Reno, NV. There will be two classes this year, a DRCC 1.0 (original class) and a new DRCC 2.0. The 2.0 class is targeted at shooters that have already taken a DRCC class from Jack and I in the past, and is intended to build upon the topics that are covered in the original class. Class dates are as follows: Oct. 2-3 (Thurs/Fri) is the original DRCC 1.0 class. There will be a class dinner the evening before the class, Oct. 1, out at the range. Oct. 4-5 (Sat/Sun) is the new DRCC 2.0 class. There will be a class dinner Sunday evening at the range after the class has concluded. For returning shooters, you guys know the drill. The class will be held at the same range as 2024. For new shooters, we have a great venue just north of Reno that allows us to do pretty much whatever we want. The range covers almost 1200 acres, there are a billion targets on the property, and it’s away from prying eyes and nosy neighbors. Here is a link to last year’s ARFcom thread. Couple cool photos and writeups from people that attended. 2024 Dual Role Carbine Course (DRCC) in Reno, NV with Jack Leuba Class fee is $750 for either class, or $1400 if you want to be brave and do both back-to-back. Round count will be around 800 rounds, I’d plan on packing 1,000 just to be safe. If you're a fan of the SR-25, this is THE CLASS to go to. Other platforms are welcome, both large- and small-frame, but the class is centered around the KAC guns. You'll learn how to shoot them, maintain them, and get the history of the platform from the man that is driving the development of them. We get everything in the class. 14.5” 7.62 - 22” 6.5 guns are all on the line. Most shooters gravitate towards optics with more mag than a 1-8, but I have personally shot the class with a 1-8 CQBSS and did fine. The class is tailored to teach you how to get the most out of your particular rifle setup, and also expose your setup’s limitations. Everybody learns regardless of what rifle configuration they are shooting. |

Have seats available for the first class. It's not a traditional "basic" or "advanced" class. It's a dissection of your critical skills, showing what you're doing right and where improvement can be made. We cover everything from gun set up to employment at maximum effective range, from unsupported standing to positional barricades/support. We walk through use of ballistic solvers and Kestrels, with pretty much any ballistic software. You will also get time to talk about, see, and use KAC products that you may or may not know about. While not requiring a KAC rifle to attend, we do get a lot of neat rifles and gear from across KACs production timeline. The range facility is highly supportive in helping you master skills presented. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Jeremy or me. This is a unique class that we can only do once a year, don't miss out over a concern that we can probably answer or resolve. |

As an attendee of this class a few years ago, I'll echo what others have said. The curriculum really helped me to further my comfort level with large frame ARs and I learned a lot about what worked and what didn't. Particularly about my own setup. It was also fun and educational to see in action the different eras of the SR25. Kudos to those schlepping around a 20" M110 with matching suppressor on Day 2. With that said, there seems to be some waning of interest in this class or maybe something further. In years past, it was full almost immediately. You were fortunate to get a slot. That doesn't seem to be true anymore. I can't help but to wonder if the scarcity or lack of availability of KAC products, of which this class is built around (SR25), has anything to do with that. Sure, this forum has a collection of KAC enthusiasts that already have one or two KAC rifles (more often several+) that will always be equipped to make the most of the class. But, with the incredibly difficult task to not only locate a new rifle (not 2nd hand or on GB) and the heavy price tag associated ($6k+), perhaps that is making it difficult to recruit new KAC consumers and students? Perhaps the cost of entry and ability to locate the product this class is centered around is turning would be customers towards other options/directions. Further, with the vetbro/tactical AR market unquestionably adjusting, maybe folks are losing patience and/or interest with the KAC approach to market? Aside from that, I'm on the edge of my seat for the KS series and have 'back in stock' notifications and alerts setup in every corner of the internet I can think of to grab a couple rifles upon release. But time just keeps on marching... |

We're about 2 weeks out, last call if you want to join us. There are still plenty of spots for the 1.0 class, and now 2 spots for the 2.0 class. Like Jack said, if you need gear/ammo/gun support, let one of us know. We will do our absolute best to get you squared away. |
