Did this a while back, used a 99 cent paint brush that I chopped up so it was super uneven, sprayed some Krylon camo and flat white on a piece of cardboard and brushed on. Get a lot of compliments at the range, well, before it got worn I did.

Think it's almost time to add another pattern over it and freshen it up a bit.

I tried to post the pics I had, but the file size is too big
Stand by while I take some more and try and resize them.

I like the brush idea and I'm thinking it's fairly easy to do.

You worked with just one color at a time, correct?

Finally go these ones resized. I’ll dig the finished product out of my safe and give it a photo op when I get a chance

Correct. Did the tan first, let it sit for a bit, and then the flat white.
The flat white yellowed quite a bit with use.

Tried not to get it on too thick

Nutted up and painted the 6.5 grendel.

Rustoleum khaki base. Then brown spots. Mesh bagged tan over the brown. Mesh bagged brown over some of the base tan. Tadah!

Can't go wrong with the snakeskin camo. I also like the green/green/moar green breakup

Nice builds!

First pistol and paint job. Budget pistol built with mostly left over parts, thought I'd give painting a try.

I cut a few pieces off of an evergreen bush to use as a stencil.  For the base...I alternated with a tan and deep forest green for each 1/3 of the rifle for 2 coats and then reversed the colors with the vegetation for the 3rd coat. I added the black & gray accents afterwards.

Sponge camo job.  First camo job of any kind I've done.  Was nervous going all in, especially even doing the Acog.  But the results exceeded my expectations.

Camoflauge sand base
Army Green in stripes over sand
Sponged sand over green and green over sand
Sponged deep forest green over entire rifle

I’ll edit with the brand of paint when I get home.

Krylon Tan ultra flat

Rust-oleum Fde camo

Rust-oleum Nutmeg satin

Rust-oleum Brown satin

The nutmeg is a little shiny at first after about a week it’s not bad.

For those that have changed the colors on there rifles, do you just say F' it and spray over your current paintjob? Or, do you go through the whole process of stripping it? I personally could careless on how well it stays as I like the look of a well used rifle.

Most current/ not so current photo I have. Allot more black and base color is showing now.

I dig the new paint job.  Question: how do the ergo grips feel after paint?  I ask b/c I painted a Moe+ grip and it feels funky now; even after the paint wearing.

Mine is all over spray and doesn’t feel any different to me.  The inner tube over the tape switch is really tacky/sticky

I suspect that the soft rubber used on Moe+ grips is susceptible to the chemicals in the paint and it has degraded/ hardened.

Cheers

It may not be the most intricate, nor the prettiest (it's not bad), but this, IMO, is camo done correctly.  It breaks up the lines, or attempts to, on the macro scale.  I really like your follow-up pic with the magazine having a grass green in it.

I'm not sure what is going on with all this micro-scale camo people are applying, but I have to assume they are basement dwellers who apply it to appreciate it up close.
