Got a lower in for Cerakote work but am a little confused by it. It has the manufacturer+city/state, SN, but that’s it. No model and no caliber/multi marking. I’m setting up to have this thing done and gone well under 24hrs, but if I were to log this, would one just mark the model and caliber field as “none”? |

If you record receivers based on the caliber marked on the receiver, you'll stop once you realize there are plenty of 5.56 marked receivers that arent 5.56. Example: receiver marked 5.56, but its a .300Blackout. As to model, "none". |

ATF says to record what the actual firearm is per the CFR. ATF says the Form 4 I submit must match the Form 3 I received. ATF says a lot of shit that changes with the wind. My first two IOI's were the ones to tell me a stripped receiver has no caliber. That was fifteen years ago and four compliance inspections later they haven't questioned why I have "none" in the caliber column. |

I’ve had lowers come through with nothing but MFR, city, state and serial. No model, no caliber, etc. much like a Glock frame, it doesn’t have any of that, or a 1911 frame. |

I've yet to have an FN/Browning Hi Power come in marked as a Hi Power. Silencer Form 3's often don't show the manufacturer as engraved on the silencer: Gemtech's are Smith & Wesson AAC's were Remington Dead Air was KGMade or BP But ATF was perfectly fine jamming up dealers for transposed digits in their records. |
