I was happy with the difference the red springs made too. I thought they were a bit of a pain to get seated in the grooves properly, but not too bad. A Manticore bolt handle & a Primary Arms 2x optic - otherwise stock - and I’m pretty happy with mine. I haven’t tried adjusting the trigger bar. You’ve peaked my curiosity. I may have to give it a try. |

I did likewise, but in conjunction with the RatWorx 20/20 Precision sear: https://store.ratworxusa.com/products/accessories-steyr-990000005357-20-tsm-auga3-2545 Incredible trigger, and I don't mean for just a bullpup, it's a must-do for the AUG. |

The metal trigger bars are thin gauge and flex a pretty good amount. Its visible looking in the mag well when pulling the trigger, at least on my gun. You can take up the bar / sear contact but the trigger bar deflection remains. Its a limiting factor but as is with the red springs and adjusting the trigger bar length the trigger is WAY better than stock out of the box. |

The best bang for your buck is the 20/20 seer. It decreases pre travel over travel and reduces reset distance. I'm not saying the Red springs are no good I'm just saying that's 56 dollars that you could put toward the 2020 cereal which is WAY better and around 100 or $120. |

A replacement sear will absolutely change the trigger pull and geometry. There is a question on the drop safe rating with the replacement sear/s. They definitely drop the pull weight and some people have claimed reset issues with the aluminum sear. If I was tossing + $120'ish in the trigger I would opt for a Jard or a complete engineered unit and not mix & match internals. The ShootingSight trigger in my Tavor was not cheap but damn nice, the Tavor had a more robust trigger bar , the AUG really flexes a lot more. The red springs are a factory part , retain most if not the same factory safety and one of the easiest items to swap. $50 for three springs is not cheap but its worth every penny for the return. |
| Just the red springs alone in a NATO stock will drop the trigger pull weight by over 3 pounds. Standard stocks will see about 1.5 pound lighter pull. For the price they can't be beat. Throwing a 2020 sear and ARID trigger in it afterwards only nets another half pound or so lighter pull after that. |
| Have the ratworx 20/20 sear package in one, and the red springs in my second, Not a real noticeable difference. Everyone talks about how bad the AUG trigger is. believe me when SHTF or you are engaging in real life shootouts not just bench shooting, you wont even notice it. |

FYI, the primary purpose of most guns is to put holes in paper. If you kill more people than paper targets you might be a Psychopath. There is nothing wrong with wanting better performance out of stuff, that is why we picked bullpups. If the only objective was being able to kill things at all, then the cheapest AR15 would meet the need, and be a better value proposition taking that saved money and spending it on training ammo. |

Steyr Aug Order online. The problem I have is they have no storefront. I have to pay shipping from a place that’s 10 minutes away. |

For a duty gun (police or mil) the stock trigger is fine. Stock triggers on new M16/M4's suck also. For me and my shooting needs, the red springs are worth their weight in gold. For "dynamic" combat type shooting at my local 2-gun match, the stock trigger was fine. When I got the red springs installed, I couldn't tell the difference for this type of shooting (even at the slow shots to 200 yards). In some ways the heavy stock trigger was better as I was forced to steady, aim, and press more deliberately. But most of my shooting is from the bench and I find the heavy stock trigger excruciating and makes my itchy-finger go numb. It's much easier and more enjoyable to print good groups with the red spring trigger. |

Yeah, calling them is a huge PITA since I think they have a very limited staff and don't man the phones (besides the nice lady who always answers). But the on-line store has been 100%. Fast shipping and no issues. |

I loosened the screw so the bars could be moved for adjustment. Use a fine point Sharpie and make a reference mark to see the movement you are making. Its a small adjustment but makes a big difference in trigger feel. Adjust so the take up is reduced and the trigger breaks with minimal trigger movement. You will not remove all of it because the bars flex and you can see & feel it. Harder to explain than actually doing it and with a reference point you really cant screw it up. Its a no cost tweak as long as you have a metric Allen wrench. |

I was skeptical at first and hesitant to spend the money on a few springs but most bullpups have a so-so trigger and can use help. When I had a Tavor it was the worse trigger on any gun I have owned with an honest 14 Lb. trigger. Fortunately ShootingSight made an excellent trigger pack replacement and its only downside was the cost. Fast forward to my AUG purchase. Stock trigger WAY better than the Tavor but below what the standard AR trigger is. I was thinking I was going to waste $50 on a few springs that would be marginally better but in reality its the best $50 I spent on any trigger parts or mods. The red springs and a proper trigger bar adjustment make the factory AUG trigger night and day different. I dry fire a lot , when I shot high power service rifle competition you do it a lot to get the feel of trigger break instinctively. Dry firing the stock AUG trigger it really irritated me. Putting red springs in its better than a stock AR IMHO and more clean and consistent break. |
