I saw one of these used at my local gun store and bought it on a whim. Looks to be in really good condition even though I know these haven’t been in production in years. Are these any good? Do you guys know of any optics that you would recommend for this particular platform? I was thinking of doing an Acog of some sort.

An acog is a really unconventional choice. I would go a different route.

Yeah, my vision isn’t that great anyway and I want something that is really overbuilt and rugged since these optics are all so expensive.

Super Sniper 3-9x42

Super Sniper HD 10x42

Super Sniper fixed 16 X 42.

With the SS line call to be sure it’s in stock.

Vortex and Athalon make several moderately priced optics .
Trijicon Accupoint scopes are a better choice than their ACOG s
Nightforce or US Optics if you want buy once cry once.
Vortex FFP. 5-25x50.  $599
Good value + great no fault warranty

Zeiss 6-24x50 2FP  $799.
Talley Tactical Rings  are very good.
Badger Ordnance rings, Nightforce rings are good.
Warne Rings are Ok (lower end of what works) Vortex Ok
Even the rings SWFA  has for their SS line have held up well and are moderately priced .
La Rue are very good but spendy. (Quick Detach)

Agree with the above on scopes.

I feel like an ACOG on that thing would be like putting a lawnmower engine in a large truck.

You’re gonna need to give us a budget. Mentioning the ACOG would be in the $1K ballpark, and as mentioned there are tons of better scopes in the price range for this application. Unless it brings back some COD 4 quickscoping memories!

Eye relief on an ACOG is very short. Wouldn't be my first choice on a bolt gun.

Trijicon credo 2-10. Cost is the same as a Acog but will be a much better option.
