I am looking at buying my first can that will fill my requirements: Good sound reduction Can be used on pistol and PCC Quality construction: I would rather it be a little heavier if it means it will last a lot longer. Would like to keep it under $800 Ability to shoot .300subs and .22 out of it would be nice. (Don’t have any .300 guns or threaded .22s, yet…) Would like to be able to disassemble for cleaning. Is the Obsidian 9 really as bad as the internet makes it sound for endcap strikes? Or will Teflon tape and white lithium solve that? If the obsidian is bad, what is a solid alternative? |

BOE Incolite 9M Fits all your requirements except ability to disassemble for cleaning. 22lr cans are so cheap I really think it makes sense to just get a dedicated 22lr can and not worry too much about cleaning your centerfire cans. |

I can attest to the quality of the BOE IncoLite 9 can. I have the 9M version. 5.5" standard, and 7.5" with the adaptable end in place. Stupid quiet with 147 gr bullets and suppresses 5.56 just as well in the 7.5" configuration. Aim Surplus had the best price. As stated, 22lr cans are cheap, so just buy one and add it to your collection. |

I was recently struggling with the same dilemma, trying to find the best do-it-all 9mm can for handguns and subguns/PCCs. Everyone says the Obsidian9 is the answer to that question, but it also has so many horrible reviews. I came to the conclusion there isn’t one that's "great" for both, just some that are "OK" for both. I was more concerned about performance on subguns/PCCs, so I went with the Rugged Sub9 and love it. Will get a different 9mm can just for handguns in the future. |
| The rugged obsidian 9 is a highly rated can. Its great with pistols and pcc. It's known for baffle strikes by some and others say they have never had any at all. I think it has very tight tolerances and some things may throw it off. You can google all the things that can throw a suppressor off alignment to include user errors. If you don't want to shell out money for two dedicated cans then the rugged obsidian 9 is a great option. Customer service imo is fantastic. I personally use the rugged obsidian 9 for pistols. Once the rugged sub 9 came out I only use it for pcc's and use the other for pistols only now. Both are user friendly for cleaning. |

It's dedicated to the mini. Works great for that. Doubt it would even work on pistol. I agree get a seperate 22 can. If you are not shooting full auto or FRT the Lyman 22 can is a decent can for the price. I like others have cans dedicated to guns. Once you have and use a can you're either going to like it and go full tilt getting them for different and dedicated guns. Or you just won't get it and wonder why you wasted money on a can to begin with. Don't be affraid of the newer 3d printed stuff. I picked up a huxwrks flow 762 TI last feb. it now resided on my poly tech. AKs are notoriously hard to suppress but it does a decent job. Both my 300 blkout guns I use either a 9mm or 45 acp pistol can. The swr octane now sico 9 something another. Lots of decent cans mentioned already so I'll not rehash that. If you are starting with just one can get a direct thread mount. It will be the cheapest and easiest to move around to other hosts. All you should have to invest in are a frew threaded end caps or pistons. 1/2x28 and 5/8 x24 if you go with direct thread to start will cover a lot of bases. Othewise you end up buying a hub mount for every gun and before you know it you have more in mounts then the can. I'm going through that now with the Flow 762 can. 140 bux min per muzzle device. ( I've bought three now ) My octanes are 45.00 on sale to 120.00 each. Per piston. I have a lot for the pair of octanes since I've owned them so long. I have enough in pistons for it as the 9mm can cost when I bought it. Get some cans and culture. Don't be a savage. No one likes shooting with a unkempt savage. |

Have limited experience in the suppressor world but what I have experienced and what others have said… Get a Dedicated .22lr can A 9 mm rifle can sucks on handguns Have a obsidian 45 and it works pretty well You want one can to rule them all, it will be better than no suppressor but it won’t be as good as the right sized suppressor for the gun. |

Absolutely agree - I didn’t know that was OP’s use-case. I was talking pistol 9mm cans. I’d be using my SiCo 36Ms with 9mm end-caps or my Omega 9Ks for that use-case! Also hear Griffin is coming out with a new hard-use printed 9mm can. |

Although, I haven't had my Incolite 9 that long.  It has seen full auto but not a lot yet. I'm wondering if that HUXWRX was direct screw mounted. Firing FRT would likely loosen that up which makes me think that's the case if the threads were screwed up from those pics. I only have one direct threaded suppressor (SAW Shiv) and after running a few drills with a couple of 21 round mags, it was noticeably "loose", not bad, but vibrations and regular threads are a bad mix with a higher rate of fire. To your point, I would agree and avoid titanium for stuff that is going to go cyclic at a higher rate. ROCK6 |

Op, i use the Griffin Optimus 9 for: 22LR - fantastic, no ear pro req. easy to clean. 9mm AR9 - this is really fun, but just s little too much gas to the face. I hear they are in development fir something new. Works great with 300 BLK. Subs are a true blast!! Pistols… G19 and Sig P365 excellent due to EZ-LOK by Griffin. |
