I’m trying to do research and there’s a ton of articles and videos out there on the web, but they jump all over the place. It’s hard to tell who’s being sponsored and who isn’t. 3d printed vs not. I’d rather have real user input from folks here. My setup, Springfield Saint, FRT, 9” barrel in 300blk. Looking for a dedicated can and will be shooting subs and maybe supers (somehow I have a bunch of those). Mainly subs In 2026, which can is the best all around bang for my buck? Weighing on sound suppression as probably top priority. Cat ODB keeps coming up but can’t find one anywhere Omega 300 ( old tech though? Or does it matter) Huxwrx flow 762 ti Amongst some others. What say you? |
| My only 7.62 suppressor is a LPM Mach S. Titanium, 9 oz and sounds great on my 8.5 AR. Mine is not FRT so you would need to check the firing schedule. I think 300blk subs are similar to 9mm subs as far as heat and energy, so titanium may be ok for FRT. |

| The Hux Flow 762 will be hugely disappointing for you for 300 Blackout. I tried, it sucks, it's far better just taking the blast off a 308. For my FRT 300 Blackout gun, I went to Capitol Armory and sorted by price, and picked one heavy enough to take high rates of fire, which was the SOS Dark Matter K. It's a perfectly generic stacked baffle silencer for a reasonable price. |

Many will sound great with subs. One thing I'll note about 300blk with mixed use is you want a can with at least some backpressure. Most guns aren't set up to run reliably with subs unsuppressed. So as noted above, I'd avoid the Hux or similar really low backpressure for this application. |

Take a look at the TBAC Silencer Sound Summit info, if you are into numbers. Juicey Media and Silencer Analytics, both on YouTube, have videos regarding 300 blk cans. Are they influencers? Sure. Do they provide helpful info? Yep. Anyway, one of the things about 300 subs is that you can choose to run a can wet and get even better performance. So you can take a smaller, louder can and make it significantly quieter, so it punches above its weight. What I’ve PERSONALLY used with 220 grain 300 blk subs out of a 8” 300 blk AR is: Vent 1 - quietest. Clapping your hands is louder. Nomad 30 - close but not as quiet. AAC 762SDN-6 a tick behind the Nomad - heaviest. Omega 300 - smallest of these 4, and loudest. But run it wet and it’s much quieter. If you go with a traditional baffled can, cans with more volume do better on 300 subs. They also have a larger form factor and are heavier, unless you go with Ti. Something to look at might be a Scythe STM. You can run it short or long. Additionally, a lot of .300 blk guns, ESP WITH SUBS, need a higher backpressure can to work the action. FWIW |

I have an Omega 300 and I like it, it's quiet enough to shoot subsonic without earpro. Yes, it's a 10 year old design but baffles still work well on subsonic. If I were shopping today I would get the LPM Anthem S2 or AAC Sabre Mixtape 300. I've put demo rounds thru both and thought they sounded good. 3D printed low back pressure cans have been a godsend for gas operated supersonic ammo rifles. Those rules don't apply to subsonic rifle ammo, where the ammo pressure is already cut in half. Most 300blk need a can with some back pressure to operate the action on subsonic rounds. Yes, you'll be a overgassed with supers, but that's just part of the trade with 300blk or that's when you add an adjustable gas block. |
