Mine came this past Wednesday so I took today off to try it out.  So far, I absolutely love it.  I put 150 rounds of ZQI SS109 through it this afternoon, 120 of which was through mags for the recommended break in period per the manual.  Between when I got it and today I also racked it at least 300 times which I though couldn't hurt w/ the break-in.  Below are some random thoughts from today.

1.  The fit and finish is fantastic on mine.  After watching some videos of these types of uppers (belt-fed in general where rear sight/optic sits on the obviously moveable top cover), I was super interested to see how much wobble is introduced by that.  My top cover had only the tiniest amount of lateral movement, much less than what I saw on YouTube videos.  Perhaps this is just because mine was brand new and not broken in, time will tell on that.  I am a nerd, so I measured the wiggle using a DNT Zulus V2 on the top cover and IR laser on the quad rail.  Per the mil reticle on the Zulus, at 348 yd the top cover could be shifted left about one mil and right about a quarter mil right but always snapped back to the same spot when I let go of it.  I was pleasantly surprised by how small the shift was and that it would return to "zero" when I stopped pressing on it.  I will measure again after I've put a bunch more rounds through it.  

2.  There is a simple spring mechanism that keeps the top cover from slamming shut on your fingers from gravity.  I was really glad to see this as I had not read about this upper having that feature.  I planned on using a small bungee cord from Amazon like one of the YouTube reviewers did on his (don't recall if that was an MCR or MFR).  There is, however, a limit to how much it will hold.  With a micro red dot on a ADM QD mount and the included BUIS, the top cover stays put and doesn't slam shut.  When I added a magnifier in a flip to side mount, it was too much and wouldn't hold it up anymore.  I'm good with that.  My Lakeside Razroback has a spring/detent mechanism to keep the top cover up, but that is JUST the top cover as it doesn't have anything mounted on it.

3.  The included buffer springs are very stout.  One is for a carbine tube and the other is for A5s, I think.  I only used the carbine spring.  An H3 buffer was included as well and that is the one I used.  There are two buffer tube spacers provided and instructions for how to check to see if you need them.  I tried two lowers, one needed a spacer, the other did not need any.   Both were Aero M4E1 enhanced lowers which I picked to use for this since the bolt catch is secured using an easy to remove screw instead of a roll pin.  I don't recall the manufacturers of the two mil-spec receiver extensions on them, not that it matters.

3.  Disruptor compatibility:  I saw on Cloak's site that there is a specific trip you can purchase for a Disruptor so I took that to mean the OEM trip isn't going to work.  No worries because I wasn't planning on using my Disruptor but I thought I'd try it anyway to see if it would dry function.  Nope, at least not on mine.  It was pretty clear that the trip was not being engaged since I could not get the hammer to drop.  Again, no problem and there is apparently already a solution available for those that want to use one with a Disruptor.  

4.  RB FRT15C3 compatibility:  This was the FRT I was planning to use w/ this upper, but I figured going into it that there was a possibility that it wouldn't work since the trip height is similar to that of the Disruptor.  It dry tested fine for probably 15-20 trigger pulls in both positions so I figured that was going to work out.  Live fire went fine for the first 6-7 rounds and then I had a trigger that felt like the trip wasn't being actuated.  I thought that was odd, but I continued and had it happen three more times in the span of the first 40 rounds.  Not thrilled about that but it isn't necessarily a fault of the upper nor the trigger, they just aren't going to jive together.  The FRT15C3 is one of my favorite FRTs because it is completely self-contained and that it works on everything else I have with the exception of the Lakeside Razorback.  I'm not knocking that trigger, it just isn't going to be the answer for this setup.

5.  ARC V1/G SSAE compatibility:  Perfection.  PERFECTION.  Based on my thought that there was a possibility the FRT15C3's trip wouldn't be high enough, I tossed another spare Aero lower into the bag that has an ARC V1/G SSAE/lever blocker installed.  This is probably my favorite FRT anyway and my ARC stuff just seems to work.  I'm glad I thought to bring that out to the field with me today because that was the ticket.  It just worked as intended in all three positions with that sweet, sweet SSAE 2 stage goodness.  Zero, ZERO issues.  I'm probably going to get another couple of those because reasons.

6.  Magazines:  I brought out a Lancer 20 round, two gen 3 PMAGs (one of which has Dos Boot installed), and two Defense Solutions metal mags with Magpul anti-tilt followers.  No issues of any kind with any of them.  The SS109 ammo I used feed perfectly 100% of the time and the last round bolt hold open worked every time w/o fail.  Awesome.  The manual says to break the gun in at max gas setting w/ magazines for the first 100 rounds so I took that opportunity to confirm compatibility w/ my favorite magazine types.  I was expecting no problems here and I found none.  I will be trying gen 2 PMAGs as well but I don't expect any issues there either.  I'm a slut for PMAGs and Lancers...  and now M27 links

7.  M27 links:  So far, I have only used the links provided by Cloak w/ the upper.  I've owned a pile of ARs for 20+ years and my rimfire belt-fed Razorback for 15+ years but, until this week, have never used linked 5.56.  The links provided by Cloak were easy to belt up by hand (thank you again to those who replied to my "do I need to buy a linker" thread) so that was nice.  The first 20 round belt I fired (after the 100 rounds using magazines) was pure bliss and perfection.  I then loaded a 10 round belt and the last round didn't feed but also didn't jam in the gun, so not sure what happened there.  At any rate, I plan on running this gun almost exclusively with belts for obvious reasons, so can post an update soon.  

8.  Precision:  I have a decent amount of ZQI SS109 that I bought years and years ago.  From previous experience, ZQI hasn't been super consistent so I figured that would be perfect to break in the gun.  I was getting consistently sub 3 MOA w/ this upper/ammo combination.  I realize that doesn't sound spectacular, but it is better than I was expecting from ZQI ammo fired through an upper w/ an optic mounted on a top cover.  I will try other ammo with it soon as well.  

I shot the gun suppressed w/ a Griffin Recce 7 mod 4 for 90% of today's shooting.  I wanted to make sure it ran w/o the can (Griffin EZ brake) so I did do some unsuppressed shooting.  I just realized I didn't do any belt shooting w/o a can so I need to test that as well.  The gun shot smoothly despite having it on gas setting 2 (highest) even with a can on it.  Obviously, 150 rounds is just a start and doesn't say much about anything long term so this is anecdotal at best.  I plan on having a shit ton of fun with this gun.

In case anyone is looking for a brass/link catcher for these, the Visiofire spring loaded brass catcher (EXTRA LARGE!) on Amazon works great.  After some very light Dremel work on the brass-catcher side of the mount, you can also get it to click into its last notch which gives it an even better "fit" to the upper.  It catches 100% of the links and brass.  I may eventually shorten the rail mount portion because it hangs way off the right side of the gun.  I bought a second one for my Razorback which seems to fit ok but I haven't done live fire with it yet.  It is also comically cheap
