Bought a Griffin MK2 lower (pretty impressed btw), submitted a eform 1 about 2 weeks ago.  While doing so when entering the manufacturer "Griffin Armament" wasn't able to be verified.  It tried to get me to select "Hearing protection LLC, Griffin Armament".  But since my experience with form 1s has proven the ATF wants what is exactly engraved on the receiver I went with "Griffin Armament", even added a picture of the factory markings.  It has been "pending research" for 2 weeks now.  Wondering if I should have just selected the drop down menu option...

The FFL is under HEARING PROTECTION LLC
The business name is GRIFFIN ARMAMENT

Yeah just got the email notification this afternoon that its now "submitted".  They changed it to "Hearing protection LLC, Griffin Armament".  I'm just glad they didn't kick it back and make me start over.

ATF doesn't follow their own directions.
Manufacturers are supposed to fill out that Form 2's and 3's with what is engraved on the silencer. They don't.

Dead Air Form 3's will have KGmade, Sound Moderation Technologies or BP Products listed as the manufacturer.
Gemtech will have S&W as the manufacturer.
The pre bankruptcy AAC would have Remington listed as the manufacturer.

For some reason ATF doesn't really care about the accuracy of the Form 3, but they do care if the subsequent Form 4 doesn't match that Form 3.

Likely same attitude with Form 1's.

I just form 1ed a Griffin Mk2 - Hearing Protection LLC/Griffin Armament is the manufacturer; model number is MK2, caliber is 5.56 or 300 or whatever but you canNOT select "Multi".

Serial number includes the MK2 prefix, so MK2012345 - you can't enter a "-" in the serial number box.

I filed it on the 20th and got the stamp back yesterday the 23rd..
