| This clone goes up for literally a tenth of the cost of a real one (or even less than that), but I can't find any suitable reviews...uses Crane plugs, packaging is even cloned rather nicely off of a true Steiner box, so, before buying one myself...any reviews or first-hand experience with the light & laser brightness, and screw stability with 'holding zero'? |

I think the jury is still out on this one; only one way to find out. Some of us have already taken the plunge on other models (Somo Gear, IS, etc) so your input would be highly appreciated. I will say that Spec Precision, much like SG, IS, and SOTAC, has been steadily improving on their clones. Usually after 2-3 iterations they have a workable model. So depending on where you feel comfortable to jump in. So in general, these clones have been steadily improving, to the point where many of us are using them with "Real Steel", i.e. actual weapons. Usually 5.56, but some brave souls are going up to 7.62. And beyond. You may get many mixed comments here because lots of folks have agendas to support other products. So a certain amount of trial and error becomes necessary due to all the static in the public space. |

Very gud comment and helpful guidance...I do want to pull the trigger on it to see, especially since the A4 has a light...but I just saw on their page they have a new IS-EG NGAL clone model up with an advertised 40 mW of laser power, something that just sounds utterly preposterous...the DBAL A4 however says only <0.7 mW on the IR laser, and the light is actually said to be just 500 lumens, which usually means about as bright as 350-400 IMHO with Chinese LEDs...so, maybe I'll have to let someone else report... EDIT: Chatted with a company rep, and they said "DBAL-A4 is for airsoft only, it is not the most powerful model we offer" and pointed me to an image of its visible floodlight being as about as bright as most Chinesium handgun frame-mounted flashlights...won't buy that model |
| While those models you mentioned are tantalizing, most guys here have found the Somo Gear NGAL or PEQ-15's to be the most usable of the bunch. Even over the IS NGAL (unobtainium), or the IS-EG NGAL (pretty dodgy from what we've heard). |

For sure just start reading all these threads here. Just to get going check out Somo Gear PEQ-15. Then I'd look at Somo Gear NGAL. IS takes forever to get. I waited 18 months and only got it when I cancelled my order. IS-EG might have QC issues. |

@Diz my buddy has an IS NGAL & it’s nice…… but there is no fucking way I’d have waited over a year for it. Honestly, the quality seems somewhat only somewhat better than the SG ones, especially after seeming them side by side. @sixers79 All that being said i would probably limit my use of clone lasers to 22/556 use. |

Thanks, that's exactly what I'm looking for, one for my primary bedside AR...don't need long range as I don't have good quality phosphor Gen 3 or higher NODs, just the ability to reliably hold zero on that cartridge without breaking the bank for what it's worth... I did buy a SOTAC PERST-4 for my Russian AK just for the looks on it, but I doubt with its stubby barrel length that even a real one would do me much good with its inherently inferior accuracy next to a rifle... |

I would’ve expected it to lose zero then if it was going to. When you pull the blue screws out that fucker is bright in ir too. |
