The best testament to camo was the following story! My first year turkey hunting back in 2020 - it was late morning and I had not seen or heard anything. So I went a little ways down the road and sat down off the the side. I kind of wailed on the box call and next thing I know three jakes were running down the road to find me... They got to be about five yards from me and never saw me...I was just sitting with my legs crossed out in the open and my shotgun was laying next to me.... They milled around for a minute or two and never gave me a shot... It was surplus Multicam - head to toe what what I was waring.... I believe in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

The rigs they are wearing are probably the same they use in other occasions, in the last times i have seen many SF types wearing rigs in colors that we could hardly classify "effective camouflage". And i am talking about First world special forces, not the african types with black chinese Gear. Don't know why. I’ve seen the 7th Group guys wear a lot of different camos in competitions. They’ve put a few teams in a local SWAT competition here and some teams will have regular multicam everything, while the other teams will look like the guys in that pic. I can’t remember if it was last year or the year before at the SWAT comp, one guy had Tiger stripe Crye pants (or the knockoff variety) and a MC PC. Most of the guys are now using Sub Second belts in varying camo colors as well. There’s probably some good pics of the 7th guys at Fuerzas as well as the SWAT comp on 7th’s Facebook page. |

If the woodland had a touch of a darker brown in it, it wouldn't be bad either. |

Instead, MARSOC Marines and Sailors will wear FROG uniforms until the command can procure SOF Peculiar uniforms in MARPAT patterns. Additionally, they will no longer use field equipment in MultiCam but rather procure gear in OD Green." Looking cool Is half the battle The OD green field gear part got me stumped (Who does od Gear anymore? Do they mean Ranger green? Why not coyote Brown) more than having a different uniform than the rest of Socom (why not, being a unified command?) Ahh government management at its finest. On a serious note, why not just use CB field gear like the rest of the Corps if they are so worried about color coordination? |

I wonder if that was just a screw up on their behalf, and they intend to issue and use CB gear instead. OD would arguably work better in certain environments, but the point of CB is that it continues to work in other environments as well. |

I have heard that the general who wrote/directed this hasn’t ever actually been a part of MARSOC and is kind of reaching the outer limits of authority to push this in the first place. It’s kinda like officers in the Army who couldn’t pass selection to get into SF, and then come up with ‘berets for everybody!’ later in their careers once they make it far enough. It’s also a huge waste of taxpayer money. Supposedly $27 million, that’s the number I’ve seen knowledgeable people say. I agree CB would be a simpler option but MARSOC also has gear that isn’t in the normal CIF supply system for the rest of the force, it would still cost millions. If OD green is reallly what they mean, which, you know, words mean things and general officers are typically very intentional with their writing….just wow. The manufacturers probably don’t have OD fabric on hand, let alone in a common dye/color like CB. Peacetime garrison bullshit GO nut flexing is what I see it as, wasting resources. |

I just pre ordered two forks shirts from 0241, one in green frog-skin and one in Mitchell pattern. I found out about them a day before the pre-order ended so I was excited. I haven’t seen many people talking about them but I’m excited to get them in. |

I don't know if these 0241 garments bring something new to the table, the have OCP and FROG cut uniforms. They are probably capitalizing on weird camo fashion, but damn they are cool. If only USMC had adapted that Tiger Stripes.... (Maybe today we'd be all excited for a recolored UCP with Marpat colors 🤣) |

(Maybe today we'd be all excited for a recolored UCP with Marpat colors 🤣) If that was the case, the Army's UCP would likely have ended up along the lines of ABU, and the Air Force and Navy would have duked it out over who got the blue colored tiger stripe pattern. And a few years later, MultiCam would still rule the world, and we likely would be excited for the vintage/specialty digie camo being released. If only the Marines had picked their uniform (which ever version) and let the Army get their second choice. Either way, it'd have been better than the decade plus of UCP. |
