The only logical explanation is that you got the last and first of a model at an in-production design revision.

It just makes me think though. What are the odds I would get that. Seems like a 1in 10000 chance. Debating on ordering a third just to see what I get. In the photo I can’t remember what one is higher vs lower serial. |

Is there any difference besides the front cap? Are they removable?

I think otter creek cut one of these in half.
It had two baffles inside. It appeared to have no asymmetry at the apertures (at least not visible in the picture). It looks a lot more gee whiz on the outside than on the inside. It might be low backpressure, but it looks a little like it would impossible for it to also be quiet. I've kind of wondered how they sound as I've seen them on the line at events, but haven't seen one fired. It’s made to be put on MG and be beat to shit. The thickness of the baffles is crazy to me. But then again when they can get abused like this. |

I realize it is marketed as a can for belt fed applications- those are the guns I've seen the can on. The part of the can that has a high level of thickness is the two apertures where the erosion occurs. Otherwise, the can is pretty normal, surprisingly so, for the kind of abuse that would make the can glow.
Indoor also I guess the lights can be lower (that brass in the foreground is pretty poorly lit, whereas the fire extinguisher is better illuminated, so something odd is happening with light in that image). A can can glow earlier in lower light, so it's also a little difficult to know how hot that is from looking at it in lighting conditions that aren't normalized through the whole composition. |

Especially when you have only 2 baffles. And with that, I'll keep the balance of my B&T opinions to myself, will only say that American suppressor tech these days is leaps and bounds ahead of European. |

The bottom one is the newest version from what I've seen

The purple glow in that pic with the beltfed reminds me of digital color night vision. I can’t recall ever seeing a silencer glow purple to the unaided eye.
That cutaway does show some odd features. Like whatever that bit is between the barrel muzzle and the first baffle. |

I also never saw a purple glowing can. That mount is I think a surefire style and that area is essentially a vented chamber with front support ring the surefire uses for alignment of the can to the muzzle device. I think that might be 5 parts with welding for assembly. Originally Posted By ECCO_Machine: I guess they didn't get the memo that tunnels in suppressor bores are a bad thing. Maybe they want the laminar flow, so a bunch of the gas just leaves the can without hitting any baffles? I mean I guess that could reduce backpressure but it would seem tragic for sound reduction. |

I’ll probably order another for the hell of it.
Thank you all for the info and especially the cutaway image. I like the design overall. I wanted a cam that could be abused. I would get the longer one if I could find a deal on it. |

How do they sound to you? Have you shot one yet? |

Déjà vu I swear I saw someone post something similar on Reddit a month ago. They didn’t order two but they got the older model or something to that effect .

I’m still tempted to get another. Trying to watch the finances though. Spent a lot on the last few months on suppressors and G$ upgrades.
Ended up not ordering another and got another griffin Recce5K instead. Happy with them so far. The flash out the ports is pretty noticable the first couple rounds then it tapers off pretty quick. The sound suppression. Level is mediocre at best but it’s clearly ment to tame the blast, be somewhat compact, and survive a beltfed. Is it hearing safe? Hell no. Is it better than a raw muzzle. Yes, by a long shot. On my 7.5 it’s pretty loud still but did take the edge off. |
