There are tons of posts and articles on the interwebs about what the best 20+ capacity magazine is for a particular .22LR host. But I haven't found any such that then compare these magazines against one another to determine which one is just the absolute best. I know, seems a bit odd, because why would you care if the mags for a 10/22 are better than those for your TX22, given that they are not interchangeable? But on the other hand, things have come a long way since the days that we had limited options besides the old 10/22. And let's face it, mags have seen improvements - case in point the TX22, previously 10 rounds was about all that you would in a 22LR pistol.... Thus I ask thee, great oracle of ARFCOM, what are some of the best 20+ capacity 22LR mags out there? |

| I've personally witnessed hundreds of thousands of 22 rounds being sent downrange. While the standard 10/22 box mag was the most common, I don't think I've ever seen a problem with a BX25. |

The gun was clean, and the magazine was clean and maintained. The front of the bullets aren't rising as high as they're supposed to. I swapped out to my other BX22 mag, and it runs flawlessly. I'm sure when I get the "bad?" one unloaded, I'll be able to fixed it easily. I liked the old, 1980s-1990s Butler Creek mags. They were trouble free, until the late 90s and they started having issues. They fixed that in the early 2000s. Ram Line had good ones back in the day too. I'm shooting a Thompson Center TCR22. |

^ lol the older BX-25 mags have worked well for me the newer ones have some issues here & there. i am in process of following this ARF guide https://www.ar15.com/forums/armory/Hitchhiker-s-guide-to-making-Ruger-BX-25-Mags-run-better-Warning-pic-heavy-/11-562453/ ....on half of the new ones to see the difference. |

For most of my uses the 10 round 10/22 mags are still the most reliable option I can see with the proliferation of FRT ‘s the need for large caps I couldn’t get my 15/22 S&W reliable enough for my tastes with the factory mags. The BX-25’s were fine in several 10/22’s I had about 10 years ago. Sold all off for something else since I didn’t feel the need for all the 22 stuff. As usual I came around the circle and am now doing a lot of 22 rimfire stuff, and rebought BX-25’s and 15’s. First try with a new BX-25 was jam city ( in clean wells lubed gun reliable otherwise) Took mag home loaded with 25 sat for a couple weeks now works fine. |
