I really wish Manticore had an Evo grip. It'd be nice to have more than just YW to choose from. The Apex grip, with its two different grip textures front to back and user-installed grip tape, looks horrible. I would've thought something like an injection molded grip for the Evo would be right in Manticore's wheelhouse. You know anything they'd make would be kick-ass, to boot.

Sven has said they have one that members of his staff use on theirs but he hasn't thought about bringing it to market. This was also before the magazines were released so I'm sure they were swamped with those.

Does anyone know which, if any, QD sling swivel points work with HBI handguards? I bought the PMM front mount before buying the HBI forend, but it doesn't seem like it will work. I was using an MLOK QD point but the position bothers me.

Anyone have a photo of an SBR'd Scorpion with a 7.7" barrel and the Griffin 3-lug or HKParts 1/2x28 3-lug attached? I'm trying to figure out how short I need to list my barrel length when I send in my Form 1 and have it cut down from a carbine, and I plan to have a Rugged Obsidian ride it most of the time with an HK-style 3-lug flash hider on it whenever the can goes on something else. I intend to use the HBI angled pistol-length handguards once I'm done, if that matters.

I think I can help, Scorpion Evo, Rugged Obsidian in K config, Rugged 3 lug mount, and Griffin 3 lug adapter. Only difference is I have the factory carbine handguard.

I was in the same boat and I too have a pmm front mount to sell. You have 2 options, mount something to the mlok side slot or I forget, but there is company that makes a side mount other than pmm.

Look up in my picture; it is a 1/2 28 hkpart three lug with an Obsidian using a Rugged 3 lugged adapter mount in the K configuration.  Though my barrel is 5.5 inches.

Not sure if you're looking for a cut down carbine but mine(from pistol) has a Manticore 3-lug with a Griffin 3-lug mount on a Octane 9. You would list your barrell length as it is without any muzzle devices attached. A short barrell is a short barrel though and it's not too critical to be exact on dimensions. In other words, if you have a 8" barrel listed but then install a 7" barrel... it's still all good.

While I appreciate these examples, it's not quite what I'm looking for. To clarify, I'm trying to see what the gun looks like with the factory 7.7" barrel, pistol handguards, and a Griffin or HK Parts 1/2x28 3-lug adapter attached so that I can determine how far the 3-lug extends past the handguards compared to the HK Parts 18x1 or Manticore 3-lug adapters, which seem fairly long in comparison.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, the carbine has a big barrel nut too - is it also 18x1 and threaded on the same spot as the factory pistol barrels? If so, I could hypothetically just have it cut to be a carbon copy of the pistol barrel, which opens up my handguard options somewhat too...

To those of you who bought the Yetiwurks grip recently, the grip screw is not too small. Compare the oem screw with the yetiwurks screw. They are almost the same length.

OEM has more threads than the Yeti screw while the Yeti has more shank which is causing interference with the receiver hole and the screw will not go full depth. The Oem screw will by proud of the nut on the opposite side of the grip when you tighten it down. While the included screw will be more flush.

Removing the receiver interference via rat tail file for example will allow the yetiwurks screw to go full depth.

Does anybody have an HKParts 3 lug adapter?  I bought one and screwed it on and am wondering how tight I should try to get it.  I hand tightened it thinking that the scorpion's little clip thing on the muzzle would help secure it but I can easily still break it loose and wiggle it, which worries me with a suppressor on it.  It doesn't have any flats to stick a wrench on so what have any of you done as far as how tight to get it?

Thanks!

I just used a Cresent wrench across the lugs to tighten mine with no ill effect.  Mined didn't come with flat areas on the back like some.

I'm using a Rugged Obsidian 3 lug mount and HKParts 3 lug adapter.

Is there anything out there or small tweaks that can make the safety easier to engage/disengage? I've thought about getting the AK style safety for more leverage but my thumbs are small, girly, and weak.
Link Posted: 3/28/2017 12:34:56 PM EST
[#41]
The AK style safeties are sweet, and the extra length gives you the leverage you need if you have weak fingers or have a selector that is 'resistent'. I just got the strong side one--the mini variant. Works great.
Link Posted: 3/28/2017 1:43:28 PM EST
[Last Edit: daddytallguy] [#42]
I stoned mine when I replaced the trigger pack because it was really bad.  It is much better after doing the polish job and no new lever was going to fix the issue.

Just go slow if you choose to do it.

I got the small AK safety and I love it. Highly recommended.

Just like on an AK you don't need to use your thumb if that's an issue for you. I don't have small thumbs, so the regular size one might work better for you.

Thanks.  What color did you go with?

I used Belgian Brown for something a little different.  Very pleased with the results.  Going to try and wait a couple of days until reassembly.

That's like 10 years in internet time.

Looks sharp.  The brown is going to be...different, but that's the point.  I'm just waiting on the barrel to come back and I'll put it together.

I did the same on the stock, didn't paint the sliding portion.
