There are some conversion parts on the registry. So yes you can find a transferable kit but I’d expect prices to be as high these days as a registered receiver M2

You can't just convert unless you have registered part registered as a machine gun.

I met a guy who amnesty registered the conversion parts in 1968. They are out there.

Unlike AR-15, when the M2 was made, a factory conversion kit for M1 that met spec was also made. Even if you find a non-OEM kit, it should be made to factory spec.

There are guns marked M2 but converted by military before sell off to M1 semi auto out there, that were sold off by CMP back in the 60s, and its been a bit of a weird situation as there has not been much pressure to call them MGs as such.

I'd be curious if owners of such could offer a strange explanation similar to these recent post 68 Dealeer samples were registered MGs made before 68 and lawfully acquired could their be an argument these are pre 86 transferable if applied for.
