it would work but boy will that make a mess and sting. NIC recommends Alum Oxide or Garnet however Coal Slag (Fine) from tractor supply is dirt cheap and works just fine.

View Quote Absolutely. I sandblasted a gun exactly once before I bought a cabinet. Not only did I get sand all over my driveway, but I also felt like a rolled in a sandbox full of ants.
