These are attempts to match different companies other finishes with Cerakote. I'll add more as I perfect them. All mixes are by weight and mixed 12:1. DDC is by far the most annoying match for me, and I'm not so sure it's possible to make it work in all lighting conditions. The rail is Geissele OE. DDC anodizing has a lot of shift. It can go from a pale gold to a dark bronze depending on the light. There is also a ton of color variance from the factory depending on the batch. This is my basic "middle of the road" mix. It does well in direct and indirect lighting, but when you're in low light is cannot shift as dark as DDC ano. To make a darker variation I swap the FDE with Patriot Brown, and to make it brighter I swap the Midnight Bronze for Burnt Bronze and add .25g Gold & Nickel. The small parts in the photo are what are coated. It is also nearly Identical to Q's clear ano as well. Bad Attitude Department color Cat Eye Bronze. They sell receivers in this color, but no handguards at this time, so I've done a handful of those. It's also a pretty cool color anyway. I think adding 0.5g-1g of H-309 Tequila Sunrise would nail it down, but I didn't have any on hand. Q "Honey Badger" handguard, the light grey/silver anodize variant. This mix is probably more complex than it need to be. Someday I'll see If I can streamline it with similar results. I know it’s between chocolate brown and patriot brown, so it shouldn’t be a hard match to do, especially since Milspec+ is Cerakote. |

Radian Bronze. The color shift stays within an acceptable range under various lighting conditions. I tried making it a little orange but it threw off the color under direct light too much. Backstrap is OEM anodized, everything else is Cerakoted.

@Thor - have you ever tried matching Glock OD? I had someone from ARFCOM do an Advantage Arms slide quite a while ago that matches very well, but can't remember who it was and don't think I ever knew what mix he used. I recently picked up a new stainless Lone Wolf OEM style slide that I'd like to get coated to match also. |

This is a sample of one. It's not perfect, I'd like to try and sub some of the metallics for solids, but it's close enough that I won't be tweaking it for a while. I don't know how much variance there is in their FDE/Brown anodizing so match results may differ. Daniel Defense MilSpec+ (12:1) H-258 Chocolate Brown (5g) H-298 Plum Brown (1g) H-109 Gloss Black (0.75g) H-221 Crimson (0.2g) Rifle had a Kaboom. Lower was salvageable, upper was toast. Replaced with a BKing thermal fit stripped upper that matched it to the lower and handguard. Also lasered the logo back on.

At my current knowledge level with the laser I’d have to line up and hit each slot one at a time and that’s a lot of time for something the optic will mostly cover! Hopefully I can make a jog and maybe figure out how to do at least a few slots at a time. |

It's an AT3 Spear XL Free-Float handguard that Thor painted. I originally went with clear anodized upper and lower from bad attitude but I hated that the finish didn't match, Thor painted the upper, lower, and small parts to all match. The stock is the "Q Shorty Stock". |
