Gents. I have always liked Husqvarna products and this pistol is one that has always alluded me. Does anyone here have one? What is a fair price to pay? Anything to watch out for? |

I have one. It's a large, smooth shooting pistol that tends to be very easy to shoot well. However... It's a poor design and incorporates a lot of sharp right-angle stress risers in the locking system. The area behind the locking block which bears the chamber pressure as exerted by the locking block is very thin. The Finnish guns seem to have better metallurgy and are less prone to problems. The Swedes are known to crack. Mine, on the other hand, bent, after a couple of range trips. The shoulder the locking block locks against at the rear of the slide bent outward, which pushes the rear of the slide rails outwards, and jammed up the gun. I was able to carefully nudge everything back into position and the pistol cycles smoothly again but obviously I'd consider it unsafe to fire. If you want a wall hanger, fine, but if you want a shooter, get a Finnish L39 and shoot it sparingly. |

I used to work at the a husqvarna dealership so I am partial to husqvarna products. I would want to shoot it but it would probably only be every few years. |

| I personally am quite enamored with the design. At least the principle of the design. Doesn't mean it can't be improved upon like you suggest. What are all the changes you would make? I personally think the general gun has potential for a comeback. The design from a mechanical standpoint lends itself very well to accuracy sense the barrel and receiver and sights are all one piece basically. Insuring that everything that matters in terms of accuracy is exactly the same no matter. And I also feel their is some recoil benefit due to the fact that less mass reciprocates then a conventional pistol. |
