Hello, Looking for advice. I have an old 870 express with a bead front sight. I'd like to put an optic on the gun. I'll need to have the gun drilled & tapped but what i dont know, is there a universal size i should have the holes drilled for? if not is there a best size? I'm looking at either just adding a pic rail for an optic or getting something like the vortex shotgun sight. thanks in advance. |

GG&G RMR plate This is cheap and easy. Remington has their own hole spacing but you could use any of the plates (I would stick with Remington pattern). I bought a tap/drill bit off of Amazon for $6 and did it on the mini mill. |
| An alternative to drilling and tapping is a saddle mount. The mount is drill-free and is secured via the receiver pin holes. |
