Was able to grab a FF RAS carbine/BR rail, and had the idea to throw it on my K5. Aside from potential issues with needing to cut the rail up a bit on the inside to fit the newer gas blocks like the urx 3 conversions, lotta folks also seem to think it'll be pretty ugly with half the gas block sticking out the front, but I'm not convinced yet itll be bad vibes. Anyone done something similar with a ff ras rail on new sr25s, particularly if the gas block sticks out past the rail? |

The problem you run into with the SR-25 rail conversions is that a lot of the rails aren't perfectly straight as they approach the muzzle device. This usually isn't a big deal, or even noticeable until you magnify the cant by eyeing down the barrel and seeing your gas block perfectly at the 12 o'clock position but the block looks like it's favoring one side of the rail. If you like the look then go for it. The SR-25 conversions are more noticeable and the couple hundred conversions we have done the 25s have more glaring issues which is why we basically say you're doing it at your own risk (even when you mill and clear material for the blocks). |
