| Most of my local FFLs do not ship firearms for individuals since UPS changed their rules a few years ago. I have one that will do it and they are pretty reasonable but one caveat is they are a pain when it comes to getting tracking info. They say it's due to theft and people contacting UPS to get shipments redirected. I've had them ship a few guns for me, mainly handguns, without issue. I dropped one off to be shipped last Monday, so over a week ago now, and texted the guy who bought it yesterday and asked if it arrived at his FFL yet and he said no. It was a pretty expensive gun, too. I reached out to my FFL who shipped it for me to at least get a status and they refused to give me tracking or a status update and just said the gun isn't in their shipping unit so it had to have gone out. Is this normal or is my FFL just being a pain in the ass? |

Through the lens of the ATF, that is an individual to FFL transfer. Which FFLs are certainly able to reject I'd they so choose. The firearm shipped never went into a sending FFL's log, thus, it's still from an individual. |

No, I'm not an FFL, but that is how it was explained to me, directly by the shipmygun rep who explained it to me. Take it up w/ them |

Sounds like jerk FFLs on both ends. You could also tell receiver to find a better FFL. People don't realize just how many FFLs are around them. One wants to be a jerk, pick another. http://www.fflregistry.com/Search-FFL-By-ZIP/ https://www.fflscope.com/directory |

There were FBI agents posting in my threads. I've seen the discovery showing this.

That has NOTHING to do with federal law or ATF policies. Now, any FFL in the country can do exactly what Bud'sa does. I posted this on another gun forum last January: Manufacturer or Dealer provided shipping labels & Third Party Firearm shippers Some manufacturers may provide a shipping label for a firearm returned to them for repair or replacement. UPS has the following restrictions: Shippers with an approved Firearm Products agreement may provide a shipping label to customers who need to return Firearm Products to the shipper (or to another address as agreed upon between UPS and the shipper). Customers may drop off pre-labeled and packed packages at UPS Customer Centers or The UPS Store locations or schedule a pickup with UPS. Shippers are responsible for ensuring that such packages comply with UPS’s requirements and all applicable laws. Firearm Products are not accepted for shipment via UPS Drop Boxes, and may not be tendered to, dropped off, or picked up at any third party retailer, or any UPS Access Point™ location. Firearm Products are not eligible for Delivery Change Requests (including, but not limited to, requests to reroute) or UPS My Choice® requests. For approved Firearm Products shippers, refer to your UPS agreement for the shipment of Firearm Products, the UPS Tariff/Terms and Conditions of Service - United States and the UPS Rate and Service Guide in effect at the time of shipping for more information regarding Firearm Products and ammunition shipments. Recently UPS has allowed using The UPS Store for some firearm shipment drop offs. This ONLY applies to those provided with a shipping label from a UPS Approved Shipper (not all FFL's are enrolled). A UPS "approved shipper" means the business holding an FFL has been accepted into the UPS FFL Shipping Program. Bud's Gun Shop operates a service called "Ship My Gun". You fill out a shipping label at shipmygun.com and they provide you with a shipping label from UPS. If your dealer is a UPS "approved Firearm Products shipper", then he can provide the same prepaid label as Bud's. FYI.....any FFL in the country can ship a firearm cheaper than "Ship My Gun" I do it several times a week. Just be aware that the FFL may charge a fee in addition to the actual shipping charges. I do it for $10 per firearm. Through the lens of the ATF, that is an individual to FFL transfer. Which FFLs are certainly able to reject I'd they so choose. The firearm shipped never went into a sending FFL's log, thus, it's still from an individual. This. |

One actually picked it up at FedEx because the idiot shipper put the customers name on the label and not mine. I'll give tracking info to my customer. If he wants to forward it to his buyer thats on him. I've had them ship a few guns for me, mainly handguns, without issue. Why did you not ask for tracking when you dropped it off? |

I am a FFL, and I provide a service when I ship a firearm for someone. In doing so, I charge a small fee. For that fee, the customers on both ends get my customer service. This would easily include providing tracking information. That's a no-brainer. If the guy is doing it for free, I guess you couldn't expect much from him. But if you're paying, that's another story in my opinion. JT |

I'll provide the tracking # but I only put the FFL info on the shipping label, not the ultimate transferee info. |
